Mailbox-Software: CNet Amiga Pro 5.10 erhältlich
Bereits seit Silvester wird von Storm's Edge Technologies die Version 5.10a der Mailbox-Software CNet Amiga Pro angeboten. Sysops, die bereits die Version 5.x nutzen, können das Update kostenlos beziehen.
Nach dem Erwerb des Programms von Todd H. Knight stellt die Version 5.10a laut Storm's Edge Technologies das erste Update nach über zehn Jahren dar. Dieses bietet allerdings noch keine neuen Funktionen, behebt jedoch einen Teil der Fehler und Sicherheitsprobleme der Version 5.07. (snx)

AmigaOS 4: Updates von DiskMaster 2, OpenSSH und GNU Make
Datei-Manager DiskMaster 2.7 Beta 7
Änderungen in der neuesten Version von Rudolph Riedels Datei-Manager Diskmaster 2:
- Lots of smaller internal changes and fixes
- Removed some more obsolete code
- The Reader has it's own font now and it's fixed-width only
- 'Swap' works again
- 'PrintDir' almost rewritten to take the data from the ListBrowser.gadget lists
- Fix: It must be ActivateLayoutGadget() to activate a gadget in a layout, not ActivateGadget(). Otherwise the layout is not aware that the string-gadget got activated In other words, activating the path-gadgets with the keyboard works properly now
- Fix: the total-amount of bytes in a dir was a low negative number in case there were only dirs displayed

OpenSSH 4.5p1-2
Steven Solie hat OpenSSH für AmigaOS 4 kompiliert. Hierbei handelt es sich um eine kostenlose Version der SSH-Protokoll-Suite, verschlüsselte aund damit sichere Versionen der Telnet-, rlogin-, FTP-Protokolle implementiert. Änderungen in Version 4.5p1-2:
- added missing LICENCE file to distribution archive
- now requires AmigaOS 52.x or higher
- increased default pipe buffer size to 4096 bytes
- fixed progress bar display bug in sftp during 'put'
- added AmigaOS-style version strings to executables

GNU Make 3.81-5
Steven Solie hat ein Update der GNU make-Portierung für AmigaOS 4 veröffentlicht.
- now uses case-sensitive comparisons no matter what the underlying file system is capable of for maximum compatibility during porting (thanks Henning Nielsen Lund)
- removed workaround for shell 51.x
- removed support for AmigaOS device names; it is just impossible to parse out targets from device names (thanks Thore Böckelmann)
- now uses getopt() from clib2
- cleaned up Makefile.AmigaOS

IRC-Klient: WookieChat 2.4.1 Beta 6
James Carroll stellt eine neue Beta-Version seines MUI-basierten IRC-Klienten Wookiechat für AmigaOS 3/4 zur Verfügung. Änderungen seit der letzten Veröffentlichung:
- Beta 5: No more Server tabs anymore! its still a little buggy, but give it a try anyway
- Beta 5: I'm now compiling with -03. That means optimise for speed. Previously I wasnt optimising on OS4, and only optimising on OS3 for filesize.
- Beta 6: When messaging someone in private, away messages are only displayed once unless they change.
- Beta 6: Dedicated server tabs can disabled/enabled. Configure this setting at:
Main Settings > Servers. Server tabs can be closed now regardless.
- Beta 6: When a person sends you a file with DCC SEND, the file comment field is filled with their nick and IP address, and the network name
- Beta 6: Added a "Hide" menu item, with short cut, for quick iconifying.

Uwe Ryssel stellt eine neue AmigaOS 3-Version von ScummVM 0.9.1 zur Verfügung. ScummVM ist ein Interpreter für diverse Grafik-Adventures, u.a. Monkey Island, Day of the Tentacle, Beneath a Steel Sky, Broken Sword 1 & 2, Flight of the Amazon Queen, Gobliiins, Erben der Erde, The Feeble Files und The Legend of Kyrandia.
Eine WarpOS-Version ist derzeit leider nicht machbar, da der Autor Probleme mit seiner PPC-Hardware hat. (cg)

Chiptune-Tracker: Hively-Tracker 1.2 für AmigaOS 3/4
HivelyTracker ist ein auf dem AHX-Format basierender Tracker (Screenshot). AHX wurde in den neunziger Jahren entwickelt um Musikstücke schreiben zu können, die dem typischen Chip-Sound des SID (Sound-Chip des C64) ähneln.
Die Änderungen in Version 1.2, die erstmals auch für AmigaOS 3 zur Verfügung steht, sind dem Changelog zu entnehmen.
Anlässlich der Veröffentlichung von HivelyTracker 1.2 veranstalten die Autoren einen MOD-Wettbewerb: Wer bis zum 31. Januar einen mit HivelyTracker erstellten Song einsendet, kann ein von GGS-Data gesponsertes C64DTV gewinnen. (cg)
