wARPgATE to be in German only
Due to editorial reasons wARPgATe is to be continued in German only from 01. Dec. 2000.

Background: Because of rather low response in spite of much efforts, and recently number of vistors per day on the WarpOS news pages decreased to 300, unfortunately our editor left the wARPgATe project. Also the future of WarpOS rather is unsettled with view on the change to a new Amiga era whith the AmigaOne. Not to completely shock the users we decided to continue the site as it is from 01. Dec. 2000, and to expand it as the case may be. But we are only able to do that in German, so the site will not be continued in English after it's 21 month lasting existence. We ask you for your understanding.

Back to the Roots Amiga-News
Back to the Roots worte:
It's not necessary to mention that we are making more scene demos available for download, but it is to mention that our legal and free available Amiga software mission now also is supported by Acid Software. With Skidmarks we are able to offer a real highlight. Furthermore there are four adventure rarities by Infocom, and a lot of other games for download.

We are happy to be able to provide a review on the music CD "Merregnon", a truly astonishing CD offering a sound experience of special kind thanks to musicians like Chris Huelsbeck (Turrican), Allister Brimble (Superfrog), oder Markus Holler (Tales of Tamar).

Moreover there is an interview with the Amiga demo group Reason expressing their misgivings on how the demo scene might look like on AmigaOne. (unk) (Translation: unk)

ALD Problems Solved
Today we accidently noticed that Amiga Link Directory worked, but it was not possible to make new entries. Caused by the move the rights have still not been set completely right. We have corrected this error, and now we are hoping for many new entries. (unk) (Translation: unk)

Schatztruhe GmbH on the "World of Amiga" in Cologne
In this year Schatztruhe GmbH also will be represented at the wintry fair event in Cologne from 9th to 10th of December. As known from former fairs we will offer interesting products again and will offer them at our low fair prices.

We will have the fresh burned Aminet 40 which you can buy directly at our booth. Until this time the new OS3.9 also will be available, and you will be able to buy it at our booth.

It will really be worth visiting the fair, because Bill McEwen will be present and will inform us about the future of Amiga, as the management of the fair said.

The fair will take place from 9th to 10th of December from 10 am to 6 pm on each day. Location is the MediaPark six and seven in Cologne (not the fair halls in Cologne!). For more information, please have a look here. You can also find detailed information on how to go there (also by public means of transport) there. (unk) (Translation: unk)

Presently in the PowerPlay-data base you can recall 229 test results, find 30 scanned test reports, as well as 35 advertising announcements of games from old Powerplay issues. Who is looking for a certain test report of a game can use the search function. Who participated in the golden Powerplay- and ASM-times will be interested in the new opinion polls. Have fun! 17th Chaos Communication Congress - 27.-29.12.2000
For the 17th time, the Chaos Communication Congress will take place. Hosting the event, as in the last two years, is the "Haus Am Koellnischen Park" in Berlin. Date is, as always, December 27th to 29th.

All Congress information is available in two languages this time. The website uses your preset language - if you want to switch, there are buttons on the page which you'll find intuitively. The website has everything you have to know, and will be successively extended in the weeks till the Congress. For spreading the news by mail and news, again there is a detailed HOWTO/FAQ in ISO-ASCII.

The Congress has some entertaining on schedule again, which is summarized in this event overview. If you are planning to participate in the Hackcenter this year, you should have a look at the changed requirements. Moreover, a registration is necessary. (unk) (Translation: unk)
