Emulation: Lemonade, a WinUAE front-end for retro-gamers (Preview)
With "Lemonade," Robert Gardiner and Kim Lemon introduce a WinUAE front-end that comes with an extensive game database with numerous screenshots. When browsing through the database, individual games can be started with the press of a button - provided that a corresponding ADF file is installed. (Lemonade recognizes ADF files automatically by means of a checksum.)

Some screenshots of the current Lemonade beta can be found under the title link, a target date for the release of the front-end is not stated yet. (cg) (Translation: cad)

CD Tool: WolnyCD 1.2
With WolnyCD, the read speed of a CD (CDR/CDRW) drive can be specified. This procedure should work with most ATAPI and some SCSI devices and serves to reduce the noise level of a drive. In most cases, the compatibility of a drive with discs, that are otherwise criticial, is also improved.

New in version 1.2:
  • option of recognising by volume or device name
  • italian catalog

The archive contains versions for AmigaOS 3, AmigaOS 4 and MorphOS.

Interactive 3d-model of an Amiga 1200
Under the titlelink you can find an item to an Amiga 1200 at old-computers.com - a website which introduces 925 computer veterans so far.

A 3d-model of the A1200 from Marco Chrappan was added recently, which you can access under the link at the right menu. Unfortunately you need a browser plugin for that, which seems to require the Internet Explorer.

But if you have handled this problem, then you cannot only turn and increase the computer, but you can remove the trap door also. Unfortunately the pcb wasn't modelled in detail. (snx) (Translation: ts)

Prerelease: new arcade game "BatDefense" under work
Markus Pohlmann works on "BatDefense", a game where you must defend a city against bats (Screenshot). The author writes the following:

"From now you can find an lha-archive of a prerelease of the game "BatDefense", version 0.4, at the website www.pohlsoft.de. The archive's size is about 3 MB. The game is based on an old arcade game's idea, where you have to defend a city with a plane against the attack of huge bats.

You must have a graphics card with a screen mode of 640x480 in 16 bit and ca. 10 MB of free memory. The game was developed and tested with a graphics card under Picasso and on a 68060; CGFX should work also.

I am eager to know which computer and configuration can run the game and if its speed is acceptable, because I can test it only on an evaluation pc.

The graphic routines as well as the sound routines of this program will be implemented into the "Project Crashsite" (yes, the project is still alive). BatDefense is some sort of a "test driver" for these routines. Therefore the bug reports are heavenly important for me!

Have fun with the game and don't forget your feedback (with configuration), please!" (snx) (Translation: ts)
