Updates for Hollywood 2.5 and Hollywood Designer 2.0
Two new updates for users of Hollywood 2.5 and Hollywood Designer 2.0 are now available in the restricted area for customers on the Airsoft Softwair homepage.

With these two updates it is now possible to use different charsets than ISO 8859-1 with Hollywood as well. This allows you for example to use Eastern European charsets with Hollywood. Furthermore, some bugs have been fixed and it is now possible to quit Hollywood without problems from a CLI using CTRL-C.

These two updates are only for users of the download versions of Hollywood 2.5 and Hollywood Designer 2.0. The versions that come on CD already contain the latest versions of Hollywood 2.5 and Hollywood Designer 2.0. All registered customers can now log onto the Airsoft Softwair homepage with their username and password and download the new versions.

Thanks go to Paul Bloedel, Lazar Zoltan, Rafal Chyla, Marco Fogli and Martin Cornelius for the bug reports. (snx)

Magazin: Retro #3 published
Since this week the third release of the Retro magazine is available in stores. An item overview is given under the title link. The official press release is listed below:

About Hackers and Heroes

The fascination of computers and the number of those who are using them full of enthusiasm was increasing within the seventies. Small groups came up which were even occupied with the world of computers aside the universities. Every new piece of software was examined, analysed and passed on.

Bill Gate's idea of a software market came to the idealistic hacker's world like a bombshell. It was the opinion that every programmer acquired his knowledge from others and only a free exchange could guarantee a further development.

Bill Gates neither wanted to share his knowledge with others nor he wasn't prepared to allow that his software should be freely copied and changed by others. Being upset, finally he wrote a so called "open letter" to the Homebrew computer club. In it he claimed the ones as thieves who were using and copying his software without any payment.

Retro #3 shows Bill Gate's original letter from the year 1976 and gives impressions from hackers' ethics and crackers' philosophy. Furthermore there are scenes of Wau Holland, being figured as a co founder of the Chaos computer club.

Additional highlights in Retro #3 are a special about soccer manager games and the history of the Amstrad/Schneider CPC.

About Retro:

Exciting, funny and a special sense for retro trends - RETRO offers everything from the cosmos of digital lifestyle. The magazine reports from video games, hard- and software for retro fans, but even introduces people and stories in the background. With a regular view of events all over the world RETRO informs you of all aspects from the digital retro culture. Even a cd-rom is attached to every issue - full of videos, sounds and games from the retro scene.

RETRO #3 consists of 96 pages and is in stores for 9,95 Euro since March 20, 2007. A cd-rom with 25 video games is part of this issue. (snx) (Translation: tz)
