Gero Birkenfeld (ANF)

Image editing: iBatch 1.0
Gero Birkenfeld's Image Batcher ("iBatch") is supposed to simplify renaming and converting several image files. The images of a directory are shown as thumbnails and the user can choose the files and the steps of procedure.

iBatch 1.0 is now written in AmiBlitz instead of ARexx. Changes since version 0.4:
  • improved useability, completely new GUI
  • integrated thumbnail viewer + list editor
  • GUI based preferences
  • OS4 "lookalike" requester (also under OS3.x)
  • no ARexx-script
  • c:ImageConverter Shell command is not needed ay longer
  • GUI is not AWNPipe-based. Now based on Stormwizard
  • progress bar
  • same executables for OS3.x up to OS4.x
  • support of locale.library
  • can be also used with lower screen solutions

The program requires AmigaOS 3/4, 24-bit-datatypes, a RTG-system (picasso96 or CybergraphX), 2MB Chip-RAM and 16MB Fast-RAM as well as wizard.library, jpeg.library and zlib.library. (cg) (Translation: dr)

YAM 2.6p1
The eMail program YAM (Yet Another Mailer) is now available in version 2.6p1 for all Amiga systems. This release fixes some minor bugs which were found during the development of version 2.7.

Changes:
  • Improved general stability by having fixed several memory leaks, important bugs and situations where YAM crashed under certain circumstances
  • Fixed the tons of "empty" themes warnings in case NOIMAGEWARNING tooltype or a themes "NoImageWarning" option is set
  • Fixed the "Jump on XXX" config settings to better interact with each other
  • Fixed keyboard usage (cursor left/right) to switch between the folder and mail list
  • Fixed some endianess cases so that the AROS build for i386 works more smoothly
  • Fixed the spam filter to handle its 'inactive' state better and not reset all values anymore on that occassion. Now it is possibile to turn off the SPAM filter all together
  • Fixed display of the poppen objects for MUI 3.8 installations
  • The attachment show window will now display the mail part description in a separate column.
  • Fixed problems with important mails containing X-Status: and Status: as local headers
  • Fixed bug in the "avoid duplicates" functionality which caused that not all mails have been shown in a preselection window
  • Updated the included AISS based theme to require at least AISS 4.8
  • Fixed the mail attachment management to not use internal file names for the "Content-Disposition" header of attachments
  • Fixed mail search functionality to correctly handle mail header searches
  • Fixed XPK packer scanning to show all installed packers correctly
  • Fixed the startup to handle multi user installation more smoothly
  • Fixed the installation script to get the installation going again

MorphOS: Firewire-Stack Helios 0.4.560
Guillaume 'Yomgui' Roguez has published a new beta version of his firewire-stack for MorphOS 2.x on Aminet. This version was completely rewritten to get a similar design and API like the USB-Stack Poseidon. Therefore existing installations have to be removed first. A graphical user-interface will follow.

If a compatible SBP2-device was connected (external harddrive, CD-ROM) it is automatically established with the sbp2.class. If this should not work the MorphOS commands Mount and UnitControl can be used as well.

Any feedback of testers is very welcome. Known bugs:
  • Oxford ATA bridges (911/935 families) are known to not work after 2339 ORBs send from the computer. Afterwards a bus reset is needed to continue
  • Having multiple SBP2 devices on the same bus has not been really tested
  • Other kind of devices are not supported yet (more classes needed)
  • Code efficiency is not the first goal, so don't be surprised to see USB speed higer than FW! Especially when the client software doesn't request data enough per IO command
