Motorola68k emulation: Emu68 v1.03
Michal Schulz has released an update of his Motorola68K emulation Emu68 for the ARM architecture focussing on the PiStorm and PiStorm32lite (amiga-news.de reported). Compared to version 1.0, Emu68 v1.03 offers the following changes:
  • Accesses to non-existent memory areas return data other than just a 0xFF value - this avoids an error in Lha
  • Update of unicam.resource to the latest version. This is used with the Framethrower (A1200) or HDaMI (A600) hardware extensions to output the Amiga's RGB image from the Pi via HDMI.
  • Fixed bug in buptest where the chip ram was overwritten
  • New option for cmdline.txt: z3_disable - this disables all Emu68-Zorro3 boards completely. This means: no RTG, no WiFi, no microSD hard discs

Video: "NetFS Revised" under MorphOS
On his YouTube channel 'JellyPowered', MorphOS developer 'jPV' has published a video showing the NetFS Revised developed by Philippe Rimauro in action. This network file system enables the mounting of drives between MorphOS and AmigaOS systems and thus allows the exchange of files between them while retaining protection bits. NetFS Revised also includes a tool to access ARexx ports remotely. The developer has also added a corresponding entry to the MorphOS library. (dr)

Amiga Pregnant Mouse: optical replacement board (PCB) and 3D-printed shell
For the once quite unique, now very rare 'Amiga Pregnant Mouse', which could be found mainly on the Amiga 3000 with two or three buttons, there are new spare parts for experienced, experimental do-it-yourself fans.

The PregnantLaserMouse-project on GitHub by Board Folk is a printed circuit board (PCB) project that represents an optimised, optical replacement board for this mouse. The Gerber files needed for reproduction (and further modification), a list of the required components and tools, as well as documentation, can be found on the GitHub page for the project and can be obtained free of charge.

Matching this, user Maxim7745 offers free STL files for 3D printing parts of the Amiga Pregnant Mouse as a two- or three-button variant on the printables.com platform. The top and bottom parts, ball, buttons and plug can be conveniently printed out using his data. Alternatively, Dennis van den Broek also offers parts of the Amiga Pregnant Mouse with three mouse buttons for 3D printing, but for a small fee. This way, defective parts of an existing mouse can be replaced or a completely new mouse can be 3D-printed. (nba)

Developer log: PiStorm16 boots
In his latest post on Patreon, Emu68 developer Michal Schulz reports that he has booted a PiStorm16 in his A600 for the very first time (YouTube video). Unlike the classic PiStorm, this accelerator card uses an Efinix FPGA chip, just like the PiStorm32-lite. The current model was developed for the A600 and for CM4 (Compute Module 4). (dr)
