Survey: the Future of "Digital Almanac"
Achim Stegemann writes: Because of the desolate situation of the Amiga I started this survey about the last surviving astronomy software for the Amiga. Not only registered users of the software can take part in the survey. Anyone who is interested in Digital Almanac or such for the Pegasos or Amiga One board may take part.

You'll find the form for the survey on the homepage (under the above title link) in English and German. Further, I am encouraging all Amiga software developers to make public your sales targets. The full article may be found under the title link. (ps) (Translation: dm)

On 23 MAR 02 we asked what our readers thought of the AmigaOneG3-SE. The responses can be viewed here.

Today we have the same survey for the Pegasos. In order to get balanced results we are giving the same possible answers for the survey, which you can participate in by clicking on the title link. (ps) (Translation: dm)

Move of #AmigaFun IRC-Chats
Stefan Martens:
Today the IRC channel #AmigaFun is moving to a new IRC server network. Phat-Net will hopefully be our permanent home. We decided to take this step because of the problems with Altnet. A year ago the admins promised improvement, but the problems just got worse and worse, especially recently.

On top of that, the Altnet admins were not going to let more than 5 users on the HTML chat, utilized by amiga-news.de and amigafuture.de. At Phat-Net 15 users are allowed, and on request this number may be raised, for example for special events. So there will be fewer problems with the use of the HTML chat. Not to mention that PhatNet has services. Unfortunately I can't control the fact that everyone who has registered a nickname must register it again. This should present only a minor problem though, ask us and we'll be happy to help you with it.

Advantageous to everyone: Phat-Net is a German server, located right in the middle of Germany.

Current entry data for your IRC client:
IRC Server: irc.phat-net.de
Port: 6667
Channel: #amigafun

Windows chatters who don't want to install an IRC client will find on this homepage, since a while ago, a functional IRC Java client. You just have to enter your nickname and you can participate in the chat.

I would like to beg your pardon, if there are still a few problems with the Java/HTML chat. I'll try to keep the downtimes to a minimum. (ps) (Translation: dm)

Tobias Abt - Statement about Picasso96 on Mediator-ML
Tobias Abt, one of the original P96 programmers posted:

"Would there have been proper funding of our work because of licence fees or at least a steady stream of registrations, we could have provided the user base with Picasso96 v2 updates and new drivers. But that never happened, so we concentrate our own efforts to work on projects that will bring some cash in. Which means better support for Amithlon and OS4. We will now mainly concentrate on v3 and OS4, so don't expect any more v2 releases." (ps)
