AmigaOS 4: Blitter-Emulator Blitzen 0.3 cares for a DPaint-compatibility
Peter "Xeron" Gordon provides with "Blitzen" a Emulator, which emulate the function of the Classic Amiga Blitter. The development aim is to raise the compatibility of old executables, which are requires the Custom-Chip-function.

The actual Version of Blitzen works mostly with DPaint 3 and DPaint 5 on AmigaOS 4, only the Gradient-Functionen makes trouble. More Information are on a Thread on amigans.net. (cg) (Translation: aj)

AmigaOS 4: FinalWriter patch for the Final update
Because the word processor FinalWriter 97 doesn't work anymore under the Final update of AmigaOS 4.0 Peter Gordon wrote a patch as interim solution.

This one was done "quick & dirty" so it should only be used if you do rely on FinalWriter 97 (or another program affected by this - e.g. possibly older versions of GoldED). It is not ecxluded that the patch will cause problems with other programs (e.g. IBrowse).

How it works: The 68k functions AllocMem() and AllocVec() are patched so that these functions make 8 bytes available at the beginning and the end of the buffer. In addition is the size of the allocated memory area at AllocVec() - as under AmigaOS/68k - saved in the four bytes before the affected area.

If you call the patch from the startup-sequence please put "Run >NIL:" before it as the patch can't be finished, otherwise the startup-sequence would stop.
