Multiplayer arcade game: "WiZONK!" v0.1
On the occasion of this weekend's Amiga Ireland 2024, Michael 'Mixel' Dawes is making available a first playable version of his multiplayer arcade game "WiZONK!", which he is developing with the game construction kit "Scorpion Engine".

In an arena, you have to defend yourself as a wizard against (up to) three enemies with a range of mystical powers and, if possible, be the last one standing.

This multiplayer test is intended for two to four players, who either play against each other using a multiplayer adapter or two players with a joystick and two with a keyboard. Wizonk's multiplayer component is basically free of charge - although anyone interested can take advantage of the opportunity to honour the developer's work with a little donation. In the future, there will also be an improved Wizonk+ with a single-player mode, which will then be subject to a charge.

Wizonk should run on all Amigas with 1 MB. If there are any problems, the author asks you to inform him. Known bug: On some systems, when loaded from the workbench, the title screen freezes (usually you press fire to skip it). If you boot without the startup sequence, it should work fine. The developer will add more levels over time. (dr)

Flappy Bird clone: Amiga Flappy Ace v1.02 (update)
After Amiga conversions of the game Flappy Bird using RedPill (Happy Bat), the Scorpion Engine (Flighty Fox) and AmiBlitz3 (Börd), Jose has now written "Amiga Flappy Ace" using the Amiga C Engine (ACE), which should also run quickly on an A500. The game serves the developer as a tech demo for a planned, larger project. The source code is available on GitHub.

Update: (12.01.2024, 21:49, dr)

Version 1.02 is now available, which fixes a memory leak and the menu text bug. (dr)

Platform game: Ami-H.E.R.O.
Paweł 'tukinem' Tukatsch's latest game is an Amiga conversion of the game Helicopter Emergency Rescue Operation (H.E.R.O.) from the US games company Activision from 1984, originally programmed for the Atari 2600. The aim of the game is to fly into the depths of an underground cave with the character, who has a helicopter backpack, in order to rescue lost miners and avoid various dangers. As Paweł explains to us, the music and sounds were created by Marcin 'Eightbm' Białobrzewski, who also created the music for the final version of Tony and for Farmiga. (dr)

Rally game: Jari-Matti Rally (prototype)
In mid-December, 'lifeschool22' published a prototype with "MonkeyEye", with which he wanted to test whether CanDo could be used to create a point'n'click adventure game (amiga-news.de reported). Now he has published another prototype with the racing game "Jari-Matti Rally": it is a Full-motion video (FMV) racing game that he also wrote with CanDo. A 68030 processor (or faster), 2MB chip RAM, 4MB fast RAM and 117 MB free space for the hard disc installation are recommended. (dr)
