C-Compiler: vbcc 0.8j Patch 1
There is a patch for the C-compiler vbcc written by von Volker Barthelmann (compiler-kernel) and Frank Wille (Amiga specific adapations):
  • Due to an unnoticed problem by replacing PhxAss with vasmm68k in the build-process the _LVO symbols were no longer assembled and were missing in amiga.lib

The compiler supports AmigaOS 3/4, MorphOS, PowerUp and WarpOS and corresponds ISO-C which means ISO/IEC 9899:1989 as well as part of the newer standards ISO/IEC 9899:1999 (C99). (cg) (Translation: dr)

Integrated Development Environment: Cubic IDE 1.3
Dietmar Eilerts integrated development environment Cubic IDE (previously GoldED) is available as version 1.3 from today.

As new features are included a C/C++-package (released as a beta version before) which integrates the latest versions of the vbcc cross-compilers, the MorphOS-SDKs and AmigaOS 4-SDKs as well as an optional "Single document interface" mode for the editor. If this one is activated, all texts are opened in one single window.

Update: (07:32, 08.07.06, snx)
Meanwhile, Cubic 1.3.1 is available. New are an Upfront Buffer History (remembering the sequence of visited tabs) and the adaptation of the Mouse Wheel support to AmigaOS 4. (snx) (Translation: tz)

AmigaOS 4: SimCoupe 1.01
The porting of the SDL based emulator SimCoupe by Ventzilav 'drHirudo' Tzvetkov has been available since today in version 1.01. Among other innovations joysticks are being supported now.

SimCoupe emulates the "SAM Coupé" - a Z80 based 8 bit home computer, which was built in 1989 by Miles Gordon Technology. Although this computer had, compared with other 8 bit computers of that time, relatively advanced features, it was never very successful, as the 16 bit computers (Amiga, Atari, Macintosh and PC) had already been standard. Nevertheless some software titles for this computer were published, which demonstrate the advantages of its sound and graphic abilities.

The innovations in detail:
  • Joystick support (via AmigaInput)
  • Better Pro-Dos boot handling
  • New indicators to show the extra LMPR bits: ROM0, ROM1 and WPROT in the Debug Window
  • Enhanced HDF file handling to accept v1.1 images with a large identity structure
  • Improved ATA hard disk emulation
  • Misc sourcecode improvements and bugfixes
  • Removed unnecessary for the AmigaOS compile files from the archive, thus smaller overall size
