WHDLoad: New installers until 27.02.2021
Using WHDLoad, games, scene demos and intros by cracking groups, which were originally designed to run only from floppy disks, can be installed on harddisk. The following installers have been added until 27.02.2021:

Timothy de Groote no longer a director at Hyperion
Last summer, there were hints that Ben Hermans had sued Timothy de Groote and rumors about the latter's departure as a result of that. In the last few days, this became official: Belgium's company register now lists only Ben Hermans as a Hyperion board member.
But in contrast to Costel Mincea and de Groote, who were listed as "Besturders" (directors), Hermans' position is that of a "vaste vertegenwoordiger" (permanent representative) of the actual director. The latter position is held by Ben Hermans CVBE ("Coöperatieve vennootschap met beperkte aansprakelijkheid", a limited liability company) founded in 2011. (cg) (Translation: cg)

MorphOS: EMail programm Iris 0.113
Jacek 'jacadcaps' Piszczek's "Iris" is going to be the standard e-mail client for MorphOS. It supports IMAP and is able to display as well as create HTML e-mails.
Since our last nes item, several changes has been made. These are the most important ones:
- Improved the email address suggestions when typing in To fileds, Iris now learns and ranks suggestion by the user's choices when writing emails
- Adds the signature when creating a message via 'Forward as Attachment'
- Implemented advanced search
- Added a button to view all attachments at once
- Implemented a glossary
- Tweaks and improvements in the text editor
- Implemented MDN (read receipt) support, both requesting and sending a receipt

Dungeon Crawler: Black Dawn Rebirth as free download

Tactical shooter: Second preview of 'Project Horizon '
'Project Horizon' (video) is a tactical shooter similar to Chaos Engine or Alien Breed. This second preview the author called "bug fixed preview" and is available as ADF and HD version (with sound).
Project Horizon requires ECS or AGA and 2 Megabyte Chip-RAM (based on the used graphics). The game will finally also require a hraddrive and provide a map editor for creating new levels.
The engine itself also runs with less Chip-RAM. The sorce code of the engine as well as the editors and tools will be released for free together with the final version of the game.

Network solution: Amiga Explorer 9
Press release: Cloanto, Amiga software developers since 1986, released today version 9 (9.0.7.0) of Amiga Explorer, the Amiga-PC networking software that first saw the light in 1997.
New features include:
- Protocol extended to support additional file system operations (random read and write, append, etc.)
- Protocol extended to query additional server-side system properties (platform and branch, RAM, ROM version and CRC32, various date and time attributes, etc.)
- Added "Virtual Files" folder to the namespace root (contains disk images and other virtual files)
- New option to automatically set the Amiga clock from the Windows side
- New features in the Properties dialog: show or hide the Amiga icon under the "This PC" namespace, enable or disable the crash reporter, Changelog tab, etc.
- New Setup Wizard to transfer the Amiga side
- Enhanced data extraction when reading disks with errors
- All file and directory property dialogs now contain an edit control to rename the file or directory
- Numerous other fixes and enhancements (see the Changelog)
Several new protocol features are the result of ongoing collaborations with open source developers, including some who are working on GNU/Linux Filesystem in Userspace (FUSE) drivers.
The "AE" tool, which gives Windows command-line access to Amiga Explorer configuration and data sharing features, has also been extended to support the new features. Type "AE Help" to see a list of command-line options.
Upgrades are free to all Amiga Explorer and Amiga Forever Plus Edition customers. Amiga Explorer is also free to try under a shareware license. Registration is appreciated, but many features, including the command-line mode, are fully functional in trial mode.
Traditionally, updates to the Amiga (server) side of Amiga Explorer have also been made available on Aminet. This file too has been refreshed, and is now able to patch any version released since 1997 to the latest 9.0.7.0 build. As the new Amiga version includes functionality to support updates originating from the Windows (client) side, Amiga-side patch releases like this one could become less necessary in the future.
The full Amiga source code and the Windows "core" source code is available to a closed group on GitHub. Windows core features include the data exchange features and the command-line user interface, i.e. everything that is needed to implement, study or support the full protocol, including the buildable Visual Studio project used for Cloanto's distribution. The Windows namespace extension and its installer are not currently part of this set. The plan remains to extend the open source availability as certain milestones in the data exchange protocol are met.

AROS distribution: AROS One 1.4 (x86)
The new version 1.4 of the distribution 'AROS One' based on the 'ABI v0' trunk is available. It integrates the update of the ABI-v0 trunk recently released and offers some new features like dual PNG pictogramms.
The creator of the distribution recommends to test it first on a virtual machine, especially VMWare. He also provides some video tutorials to to help newcomers and exisitung users get started:

AROS x86: Update of ABI-v0 trunk
After a break of four years, the AROS developer Deadwood has ported back the changes made to the "ABIv1" trunk to "ABIv0". He named this project "AROS ABIv0 20170402": the date refers to the ABI-v1 code which is the base for the release.
The update includes 27 new functions, 14 new components and 26 bug fixes. Among others the virtual machines 'VMWare' and 'Virtualbox' now support USB 1.1 and USB 2.0. An updated version of the distribution AROS One based on the ABIv0 trunk has been updated as well.

Playable demo: Point'n Click adventure 'Wilcza Buda' in HAM6 mode
'Wilcza Buda' is a classic point'n click adventure. The secon demo version now runs in HAM6 mode (video). Wilcza Buda runs on Amigas equipped with Kickstart 1.2 and higher and can be played from disk or harddrive. It requires 2,5 MB RAM (thereof 1 MB Chip-RAMm) or more.

Adventure: 'Ermentrud' will be released (programmer wanted)
Timo Kloss wrote: The point'n' click adventure "Ermentrud" originally was developed between the years 2001 and 2004 for Amigas equipped with a graphic card, but then abandoned. It was placed in a medieval world and offered an absurd plot and absurd humor. And the hero had a horse made of paper maché.
This year the game will be finally released. All the original graphics, sounds and music will be included but the plot will be reworked.
So far only a German version is planned. If there will be additional localisations is still not clear. The game will offer gaming fun of at least one hour and will be available for free.
The current level of development
- All old scripts have been repaired and extended and the game can be played through. A rework of the dialogues and texts is planned.
- A completely new engine based on SDL2 was developed which is 100% compatible to the old one. The development has been finished and the game runs on macOS and Windows.
- Besides, the game still always runs on the old Amiga engine.
Amiga programmer wanted
Unfortunately the old engine does not run that stable and has graphic problems in emulators and on OS 4 (probably on MorphOS as well). I would like to release the game for Amiga systems as well therefore I am looking for a programmer who can help fixing the problems. It is C-Code but not that clear. Alternatively the mpdern SDL2-based engine can be also used. Please contact me if you are interested!
