AROS-Distribution: AEROS for Pi updated
Pascal Papara's Linux-hosted AROS-distribution AEROS is available for registered users as updated version for the ARM-based computer Raspberry Pi (video).
AmiCloud, AmigaRacer, MilkyTracker, fixed lokales, audio driver for AROS, VisualBoyAdvance and FCEUX are included.

AmigaOS 4 / MorphOS: Ask Me Up XXL 2.4.4
Jérôme 'Glames' Senay's Ask Me Up is a puzzle game for AmigaOS 4 and MorphOS (as well as Android, Linux and Windows) in which you have to correctly answer questions on common knowledge, each with four possible answers. In the L and XL edition there is also a two-player mode. A demo version with 80 questions is available for free.
In version 2.4.4 some questions as well as the English and Greek translations have been reworked and the German, Portuguese and Swedish translations habe been completed.

AROS: ZuneView 0.22
Yannick Erb has released version 0.22 of his picture viewer with editing functions called ZuneView for AROS.
Changes:
- GUI clean up
- Clean up the mess about Applying processing on selection or not, if a area is selected it's getting used, otherwise the whole picture is used
- Added a clear selection button and menu entry
- Live Barrel Correction is now working
- Rotation takes also last line and column into account for bilinear filter
- Added Barrel correction tool

Amiga developer Dave Needle died
According to RJ Mical on his Facebook site, Dave Needle has died. After their employment at Amiga Corporation, they both worked as developers of the game consoles Atari Lynx and 3DO.
Dave Needle did belong to the original hardware developers of the Amiga. Despite of circulated love-hate relationship between him and Jay Miner's dog Mitchie he later pointed out to his relevance of the computer development. In the past year he did participate in the Amiga 30th anniversary party (picture).

WHDLoad: New packages until 20.02.2016
Using WHDLoad, you can install games, scene demos and intros from cracking groups to your harddisk that were only working from floppy disks previously. The following installers have been added until February 20th, 2016:
- 2016-02-18 updated: Darkmere (Core Design) made 68000 compatible (Info)
- 2016-02-18 improved: Eye Of The Storm (Rebellion) supports the original disks (Info, Image)

Accelerator board: Adding a FPU to the ACA-1233
The Amiga user Allan 'Drewlio77' Versaevel has upgraded his ACA-1233 accelerator board (55 MHz) by adding a 68882-FPU and a coresponding oscillator by himself. In his opinion, this might be the fastest 68030-board for the Amiga 1200.

IBrowse developers explained usage of TLS with AmiSSL
The developers wrote: "I'm sure you are all well aware that many secure websites are normally not reachable with IBrowse 2.4 any longer, due to servers shutting off SSLv2 and SSLv3 connections due to the POODLE attack. However, there is a solution...
This is delayed advice, as I have only just realised it was possible: contrary to the previous news item, you should enable both "SSLv2 support" and "SSLv3 support" on the "Security" page of the IBrowse preferences. You must then also enter the following command in a shell:
setenv save AmiSSL/SSL_CLIENT_VERSION tls1
This will force any most applications that use AmiSSL, including IBrowse, to disable both SSLv2 and SSLv3, and use more secure TLSv1 connections instead.
This issue will be properly addressed in IBrowse 2.5 and a new version of AmiSSL."

MorphOS: Amiga Racer 2.8e
While the version for AmigaOS-4.1 of the racing computer game "Amiga Racer" (amiga-news.de reported) is constantly updated in the OS4Depot-Uploads, the version for MorphOS from the end of October remained almost unnoticed. On tuesday version 2.8e was released.

Weekly Krzysztof 'Deadwood' Śmiechowicz summarizes the latest progresses and developments of the AROS-programmers.
Week of February 1st:
- 64-bit fixes have been applied to Urltext, BWin and TheBar MUI classes (Kalamatee)
Week of February 8th:
- Performance of part of rendering of decoration system has been improved (Kalamatee)
- Alpha blitting in IntelG45 driver in now improved (Kalamatee)
- Fixes for 68k compatibility have been added to Calculator (wawa)
- Which command has been fixed only to find files (mazze)
- Romania keymap now available in Input preferences (polluks)
- Multiview is now able to scroll with space and backspace (mazze)

During the last two days amiga-news.de could not be accessed for a longer period: Our server was attacked by a script which succeeded several times in overloading our database. But no data got lost and the hackers could not break into our system. The problem should be fixed now. We apologize for the downtimes.

Emulator: Preview to WinUAE 3.3.0
As usual Toni Wilen has given a detailed preview to the forthcoming version of the Amiga emulator WinUAE. Version 3.3.0 will focus on AmigaOS 4-specific adaptions. Wilen thanks all donators, who have supported him to make these changes possible. He also points out that the performance of this extensions will never be the equal of the AmigaOS 3 extensions because the context switches between emulated and native code is much more complicated and therefore slower.
New features:
- New optional "indirect" UAE expansion trap system, fully compatible
with OS4.x, virtual memory and some debugging programs.
- PC Bridgeboard disk drive raw image support. (ipf, ext adf,...)
- Monochrome video out emulation, including A1000 color/mono video
out software control (BPLCON0 COLOR bit).
- Dark palette fix option to correct colors of badly ported Atari ST
games (Midnight Resistance etc..)
- Official CSPPC/BPPC flash updater can be used to install full ROM
image without having existing ROM image.
- Custom input events can execute Amiga-side commands and scripts.
UAE-extensions, now supported by OS4:
- Directory harddrives, including on the fly insertion/removal.
- CDFS CD mounting.
- Clipboard sharing.
- uaegfx RTG.
- uaehf.device hardfiles.
- Virtual mouse driver/magic mouse/tablet mode.
- uaenet.device.
- uaeserial.device.
- uaescsi.device.
- uae.resource and uaenative.library.
Updates:
- Game Ports panel input customization is finally very intuitive.
- On the fly input device insertion/removal now remembers if device
was previously inserted and autoselects previous game ports slot.
- Many input device handling updates and fixes.
Fixed bugs:
- Hardware RTG emulation rendered same frame twice in some situations causing
slow performance.
- Amithlon partition type (0x78/0x30) support works again.
- Some storage devices failed to mount as a harddrive.

Preview videos: Shoot'em Ups "Ego Wings" and "Steel Hawk"
Two vertically scrolling Shoot'em Ups currently are in development for the Amiga: The author of "Ego Wings" has published a first video, but at the same time has regret that due to a lack of time the development proceeds rather slowly. Already the third video has been published of "Steel Hawk", which now shows version number 0.10.
