Brett: Amiga, AmigaOS 4 @GMB: Installation guide for Amiga 2000 Although the installation of de ROM chip is not very difficult, it should be carried out very carefully. If you have no prior experience with installations of computer components or if you have doubts about doing the installation yourself, please consult your retailer. Neither Amiga International, Inc. nor Vesalia Computer take any responsibility for damages resulting from attempted installation of the ROM chip. Before you begin the installation, please switch off your Amiga 2000 as well as all peripherals and disconnect all cables from the computer. To avoid damages by static discharge, touch a grounded device such as a radiator. Then follow these steps: - Remove all five screws that secure the casing (two on each side, one on the back) and remove the housing lid by pulling it to the front. - The floppy drive(s) and the power supply have to be removed with their attachment. Loosen the screws that secure the mounting support (up to seven, depending on the various models) and disconnect the cables (please note the alignment before!). Lift up the complete unit and put it aside. 2.04: 390979-01 (37.175) Use a suitable tool (screwdriver) to remove the ROM from its socket. Please note the alignment of the chip (notch!) before. Depending on the revision of the motherboard, there are different steps to take. The revision is printed on the frontmost left corner of the board. If it reads. 1989 Commodore, Amiga 2000, Made in Germany (BSW) and the notch of the ROM socket is facing to the front, then you have to solder a connection from pin 1 to pin 31 of the ROM. This step is not necessary on any other board (print reads B2000-CR, notch facing to the back.) Install the ROM chip into the socket. Please note that the orientation of the notches must match! Warning:Installing the ROM with the notch facing in the wrong direction will destroy the chip! The installation of the Kickstart ROM is complete. Brett: Amiga, AmigaOS 4 habe heute mein kickstart 3.1 bekommen (eBay) nun möcht ich das einbauen,aber wie?? ich habe ein Amiga 2000 und bin einen Anfänger,  der alte wahr ein V.2-04 37-175 nun meine frage kann ich den so rein Bau ? MFG Ralf 207 |
