kann mir jemand, der eine ATI Radeon 7000 auf dem Pegasos unter Debian und X-Windows (KDE) betreibt, seine XFree86Config-Datei zumailen ?

kannst du ein bißchen ausführlicher werden? Wo kann ich welchen X-Server bekommen und wie installiere ich ihn unter Debian, da ich Linux-Rookie bin.

Ich denke Du mußt Dir nen Treiber beim Hersteller herunterladen. - Ist zumindest mit meiner Nvidia Erazor X² so Die docs sollten dort auch verfügbar sein: Man sollte den Treiber auf jeden Fall kompilieren & installieren, wenn X nicht aktiv ist. Das kann man in der /etc/initrd deaktivieren.

[Former member] 		Habe heute mal kurz ne Anleitung geschrieben, wie ich XFree 4.3.0 selbst compiliere und installiere unter Debian. Vielleicht hilft es.

User 		ich hab versucht Xfree86 4.3 zu installieren. Das Compilieren scheint zu klappen, zum Schluß bricht die Installation aufgrund einer fehlenden "png.h" ab. Was könnte das sein ?

[Administrator] 		Wenn ich mich recht an meine damalige Kompilierung und Installation von XFree erinnere, musst Du vorher auch libpng installieren:

apt-get install libpng2-dev
