Freescale's new System-on-Chip (SoC) CPU: MPC5121e
Press released (shortened): Freescale Semiconductor has introduced a new highly integrated System-on-Chip processor (SoC) that is optimized for applications with complex graphics, multimedia and realtime requirements regarding power and power consumption.

Technical data for the MPC5121e
  • e300 core
    • built on Power architecture technology
    • 32 KB cache for instruction code and 32 KB for data
    • double precision floating point unit and two integer units
    • up to 400 MHz deliver 760 MIPS computing performance
  • user-programmable 32-bit RISC multimedia core at up to 200 MHz
  • 2D/3D graphics core, based on a PowerVR MBX/VGP Lite
  • integrated display controller for resolutions up to 1024 x 768 (XGA)
  • 12 programmable controllers for serial interfaces UART, SPI, AC97, I2S
  • SDRAM DDR-I/DDR-II/mobileDDR memory controller
  • 10/100 Fast Ethernet MAC (media access controller)
  • Three I2C interfaces
  • PCI 2.3 interface
  • Two hi-speed USB 2.0 On-the-Go (OTG) controllers, one integrated PHY SATA controller (serial advanced technology attachment)
  • PATA controller (parallel advanced technology attachment)
  • Four CAN 2.0A/B modules
  • intelligent DMA I/O controller with 64 channels
  • serial S/PDIF audio interface (Sony/Philips digital interface format)
  • SDHC (secure digital host controller) to support MMC/SD/SDIO protocols
  • 27x27 mm – 516-pin PBGA package with 1 mm pitch
