Apollo Vampire Lair - November 2025 Report

Hi Vampires, here is the November Update. We are now with 230 Vampires in our Lair and growing! If your are not yet a member, please visit Apollo Vampire Lair to get access to exciting Apollo Software and at the same time support Apollo Software Development!

News

We are still in negotiation with Microids about the licensing for Robin Hood on Apollo V4 devices / Amiga 68K devices. Based on the discussions earlier this year our expectation was to reach an agreement right after the summer. However due to a change in contact person the progress has been slowed and also have become a little more complicated. As a result of this the current planned release for the full version of Robin Hood - Legend of Sherwood on 1st December 2025 will be postponed. The good news however is that the negotiations have been extended to include also the license rights for the Chicago 1930 game which is based on the same engine as Robin Hood. If we can reach an agreement then we will also be seeking for the license rights on Desperados to make the series complete.

Release Schedule
  • Robin Hood - Legend of Sherwood is now postponed to Q1 - 2026
  • Chicago 1930 and Desperados are added to schedule with an intended release in Q4 - 2026
  • Apollo Invaders is planned for release on 1st December 2025
  • ApolloVNC will get a major update which is also planned for 1st December 2025
  • ApolloFloppy is still work in progress but planning is still to release this year
Supported Projects
  • Apollo Vampire Lair funds will be used to (hopefully) close the license deals on Robin Hood, Chicago and Desperados. During the negations I cannot give any details, but full disclosure will be given afterwards to give to give you all transparency on the spending of your money
  • ApolloCrossDev has been updated and the dependencies on Amiga-GCC (Bebbo) have been restored. Talks have started with Stefan (Bebbo) to invest some structural time in bringing more 68080 optimizations into ApolloCrossDev, including bringing the -m68080 support flag to GCC13.1. More news soon to share.
  • Battle for Wesnoth is still on hold awaiting a skilled and motivated Amiga/Apollo developer that wants to take on the project of optimizing the code for Apollo V4. Apollo Vampire Lair has offered a bounty for this Project: Apollo A6000 or 500 euro cash. Please help us find this person!
Greetings, Willem (Drijver) (dr)
