Retro Passion sells ready-to-use A4000D motherboards British supplier Retro Passion now offers ready-built A4000D motherboards. According to Retro Passion, the custom chips are “new old stock,” meaning they have never been installed in a computer. All other components of the product, which is based on Paul Rezendes' crowdfunded replica of an A4000 motherboard, are new. Only the Amiga-specific monitor connection is described as a "recycled component", meaning it was desoldered from older devices. To operate the board, customers still need to organize the daughterboard with the Zorro slots, a processor card, Kickstart ROMs, and RAM modules for Chip and Fast RAM. All of these components can also be purchased from Retro Passion. The A4000D motherboards are available for £1450 (plus tax and shipping), which is equivalent to approximately ¤1660. Motherboards are only assembled after an order has been received, which is why the delivery time is 6-8 weeks. A quarter of the purchase price is due as a deposit before production begins. Optionally, customers can provide an existing A4000 motherboard as a parts donor, and the Amiga-specific components will then be taken from this board. (cg) [News message: 26.
