Web browser Amelinium 1.0.0, E-Mail client Emalinium 1.0.0
Paweł Nowak has released version 1.0.0 of both his web browser "Amelinium" (amiga-news.de reported) and his email client Emalinium (POP3, IMAP and SMTP). The Amelinium archive contains both programmes, which share a common rendering engine, meaning that a message containing HTML and CSS looks exactly the same in the inbox as a page in the browser.
The following CSS metrics have been achieved for the Amelinium web browser (as determined using Chrome, according to the developer):
- CSS 1 100% of 53 properties
- CSS 2.1 100% of 88 properties
- CSS 3 100% of 107 properties
- together 99% of 195 (the missing piece is the @font-face at-rule, so a
page that ships its icons as a downloadable font shows none)
- HTML 4.01 87% of its elements told apart from an unknown one
- HTML5 78%
JavaScript is still under development. DOM scripting and most of jQuery work, but more powerful frameworks (such as Google’s Closure) do not yet. (dr)
