25.Jul.2001 Carsten Schröder (E-Mail) |
Handelsblatt: Camgaroo: The second start Carsten Schröder has drawn our attention to an article in Handelsblatt. The article is from 7th May 2001 and therefore is something old but nevertheless it is very interesting. The article is about the career of Gabriele Lechner which is well-known from her time where she was Amiga-publishing trader and author. Here is a small part of the article: »You can certainly still remember the Amiga?", Gabriele Lechner asks as a precaution as she fetches her little old-fashioned book from behind the desk. Only few poeple of the current dotcom-generation know the highly popular homecomputer of Commodore in the 80s. According to Lechner the Amiga was not only a computer - it was the beginning of her career as an employer. Because her publisher of that time only wants to publish her book about the Amiga very hesitantly she founded her own publishing house overnight.« You can find the full article under the title link. CVS 1.11.1p1 AmigaOS-Port SSH-Update released After two months since the first complete, ixemul.library indpendent release of the AMigaOS port of CVS the authors (Olaf Barthel and Jens Langner) have released a new update of the port. In the last version the SSH support was missing and so some requests for an implementation are send in. In this update it is fully integrated. So with this version it is possible via SSH to check in/out directly from CVS servern. This is needed fo example for Sourceforge-Accounts. Besides many other important bugfixes since the last version now in this update are processor optimized versions (020/030/040/060) contained, this should give enhanced speed performance. New feature of TCPScanner V0.40 Portscanning on the Amiga enters the next level, beside of UDP/TCP scanning the TCP-Scanner now is capable of identscan, also, hence can learn which user has started the service scanned. Additionally a rudimentary stealth technic was implemented to the scan operation, making it difficult for portscan detectors to find portscans.
