Please read BnP_Addenum.guide if you want to have a closer look at the changes.

Workshop: New power supply for the Amiga 4000T
Some day there will be the time in the life of an Amiga when the power of the original power supply is not enough or it is too old for the job. New, more powerful power supplies for the Amiga are not available. But this is not as worse because for PCs are enough good and powerful ones available you can use with some slight modifications with your Amiga.

Mirko Naumann wrote a detailed (German) workshop about replacing the power supply. (ps) (Translation: gf)

DBPro Community (ANF)

Digibooster Professional stands before further development, if...
Unfortunately it was a long time ago, that there was a new DigiboosterPro version. In the meantime the Community is again in contact with the programmers.

In order to be able to give an overview of the current user number to the developers of DigiboosterPro, we started an inquiry. This inquiry is extremely important for the future of Digibooster Professional! Please participate, and contribute you also to the fact that the development continues!

Update:
Due to the fact that some users had questions about DBPro, here some hints:

  • Digibooster Professional is one of the best tracker programs for Amiga.
  • DBPro and an additional AddOn-CD can be purchased from ACP&TCP. ACP&TCP is the wordwide distributor.
  • For any question about DBPro please contact the Community in our own forum.

Amiga Society: list updates
The Amiga software and books list has been updated. Unfortunately there will be no update in the near future due to some health problems.

Virus Help Denmark: VirusZ III v0.9a
Georg Hoermann has made a new update of VirusZ III, and the new update is now available for download at all the Virus Help Team's homepages. Here is some info about the update:

Name: VirusZ III v0.9a
Archive name : VirusZ.lha
Archive size : 58.365
Date : 20 May 2002
Programmer : Georg Hoermann
Requires: AmigaOS 2.04 or better, util/libs/ReqToolsUsr.lha, util/virus/xvslibrary.lha, util/pack/xfdmaster.lha, util/arc/xadmaster.lha (recommended), util/libs/DisLib.lha (optional),

News is VirusZ III v0.9a:
TODO Until final release version 1.00:
 - Implement file and sector scanning inside
   all types of disk- and
   filearchives that xadmaster.library supports.
 - Add device-based sector scanning.
 - Add useful commands to ARexx port.

 0.9a Changes/Additions since 0.99:
 - Totally redesigned the file check. Now all
   selected files/dirs are always scanned
   without user interaction (exception: encoded
files) and just the important results get
listed. These can be reviewed at any time
to finally decide what to do with malicious
   files.
The new concept has the following advantages:
   (a) it's much faster (my SYS: partition gets
scanned in 2:16 min, the old scanner
       needed 9:20 min; that's over 4 times
       faster!);
   (b) the Job Monitor (that's the name of the
new check-window) is fully prepared for
archive and sector checking, all this will
happen in just one window (NOT IMPLEMENTED
       YET);
   (c) less information that's not interesting
for the average user, just important things
get reported now (if you want to analyse
the files on your harddisk, just use a tool
       like CheckX!);
   (d) even disinfects damaged or encoded files as
       far as possible;
   (e) looks much better :-)
 - Added a whole bunch of perfectly commented
snapshots sent by Todd A. Oberly. Thanks a lot!
 - Added more snapshots sent by Michel Bagmeijer
   and Ian Chapman. Again thanks!
(ps)

Tool: FSwatcher Version 1.4
There is an update of FSwatcher available. FSwatcher (FileSizeWatcher) lets you monitor the size of any given file. It can be used to check how many bytes of a download are already downloaded (for example Audiogalaxy).

Download: FSwatcher.lzx

History:
--------
Version 1.4 (19.05.02):
CHG: Changed the gauge format a little bit
("bps: xxx" to "xxx b/s"

NEW: Extended the both time values to display
also the hours (noticed while downloading
the pegasos video with wget;-)

CHG: Removed shell arg KB=ShowKilobytes/T,
its replaced by 'SizeMode'

NEW: New shell arg SM=SizeMode
It can be set to "KB" or "MB", to display
the current size and the filesize in Kilobytes
(divided by 1024!) or MegaBytes (divided by
1024*1024, with 3 numbers after the comma).
If its set to a different string, "bytes"
are used.

NEW: New shell arg Com=Command
This command will be executed if you press
the "!" button! You can use it f.e.
to play the currently downloading mp3 song!
Default is "s:FSwatcher.bat".
The 's' and/or 'x' bit have to be set, if
the command is a shell-script!

NEW: New shell arg ComCon=CommandConsole
This is used to specify a console window
where the output of the command is send to.
Default: CON:210/400/500/120/FSwatcher
action command/CLOSE. If you don't want a
window, use "ComCon = NIL:" w/o the quotes.

CHG: Removed the initialPattern (#?.mp3) from the
asl-req, cause every file could be downloaded,
not just .mp3s.
