Individual Computers at Classic Gaming Expo 2004
The big exhibition for classic computers and video games Classic Gaming Expo takes place for the seventh time this year. It is a tribute to the people, systems and games of yesteryear. The event has moved from Las Vegas to San Jose, California, it takes place in the Convention Center, located downtown San Jose, and is therefore much bigger than the previous years.

More than 60 celebrities that played important roles in development of computers and games in the past 25 years are on the guest list. CGE is open to the public and gamers of all ages are welcome.

Individual Computers will be a guest at the booth of Cloanto. We will show the new Catweasel MK4, which is an ideal complement to their Amiga Forever emulator. The Catweasel controller lets you use Amiga disks, Amiga joysticks and Amiga keyboards with today's computers.

The Catweasel MK4 will be available starting October 2004. (snx)

Error in AmiChameleon installer script
In the version of AmiChameleon released on August, 12th (we reported) is a bug in the installer script. According to a user's report the installer script aborted during the installation process. As an entry in the startup-sequence must be done the startup-sequence wasn't readable anymore after a reset.

The new script now doesn't add an entry to the startup-sequence anymore but gives the user the information that an entry has to be done and where it has do be done.

If this error occurs to other users, too, here is the solution of the problem: Before the writing to the startup-sequence a backup of this file was created called s:startup-sequence.orig. Just give it back its original name and everything should work as before.

The e-mail address of the Amiga Center is jean-jacques.boulet@wanadoo.fr. The snail mail address, bank account, telephone number and the offered services stay unchanged.

Furthermore, they are still looking for someone with interest to translate the homepage from French to English. (snx) (Translation: wk)

heise: The City of Munich Advances with Linux Migration
Last Wednesday at a press conference at city hall, München's (Munich's) Mayor and SPD politician Christian Ude stated that the Munich government would go ahead and begin accepting bids for the outfitting of their desktops with unrestricted software, in spite of legal unclarity and persistent fears of a patent war over open source.
