Furthermore there have been updates to the descriptions and screenshots of some downloads.

Amiga Future Homepage Needs Help

The Amiga Future is a non-profit project. That's why the Amiga Future homepage has to completely manage itself in terms of financials. The around 8 GB huge homepage is entirely paid of advertising, donations and our own private money.

Especially the development of new expansions, databases and features is really expensive. That's why we ask you to support us by donating money. It allows us to make the homepage more user friendly and comprehensive. (snx)

Game introduction: Music game Tracker Hero
Tracker Hero is a music game just like Guitar Hero or Dance Dance Revolution which can be controlled with the well-known "guitar-controllers" - if you have such a device.

Tracker Hero is supposed to run on all AGA-Amigas and will be available as Freeware. A version for ECS-Amigas maybe will be published later. Some videos at Youtube (1, 2, 3) show the game. (cg) (Translation: dr)

Retro-Computing: Multiple Classic Computer (MCC)
Thanks to the FPGA-technology the "Multiple Classic Computer" (MCC) is supposed to simulate classical computers. According to the producer the C64-hardware is being completely emulated - three videos on Youtube (1, 2, 3) are supposed to demonstrate it but show only a recorded screen on which different C64-games are started.

Additional to further 8 Bit-computers and the Atari ST the "whole Amiga serie" is mentiond as another aim on the website. The MCC is supposed to have the following devices:
  • 2 x Atari and Commodore compatible joysticks
  • 2 x P/S2 for keyboard and mouse
  • 1 x SD-card-slot
  • 1 x Audio (stereo)
  • 1 x VGA
  • 1 x S-Video

The hardware is supposed to be available soon. (cg) (Translation: dr)

AROS: Another collection for Poseidon testers
After the inofficial Icaros-update under the title link there is another possibility to support Chris Hodges porting the USB-stack Poseidon as tester.

The new collection can be started like the Nightly-Builds but offers the following advantages:
  • Icaros Desktop look & feel (but no AmiStart)
  • pciusb.device compiled with debug level 5 enabled
  • More programs inside (but less than in Icaros Desktop Live)
  • All you need to communicate over the Internet, including OWB, SimpleMail and WookieChat
  • Some debug logs created at startup
Please note that this is not an Icaros-update. Users of Icaros which already use the mentioned inofficial update instead should download the pciusb.device (35 KB) and copy it to SYS:Devs/USBhardware. (snx) (Translation: dr)

Software-News: FFmpeg/FFplay svnr18880f, DrawerBall 0.8g, EyeViewer SE

Video-converter/-player FFmpeg/FFplay svnr18880f

Piotr Bandurski has published a new version of his FFmpeg-port. The archive includes the player FFplay which currently should be the most efficient video player for AmigaOS 3-systems. Changes since the last version:
  • optimized mpeg audio decoder (MP2/MP3) for 68060 (FFmpeg/FFplay*_060fpu)
  • added FFmpeg's binary with optimized mpeg audio decoder for 68040 (and WinUAE)
  • added MP3LQ patches for FFmpeg (use spatch to apply them to normal FFmpeg's versions)

FFplay requires the ixemul.libary version 61 and does not work with the original version of the library.

MorphOS: DrawerBall 0.8g

Tom 'Amigaharry' Duin has published Drawerball 0.8g which is an early version of a simple filemanager.

EyeViewer SE

The picture viewer Eye Viewer SE is available for AmigaOS as well as for AmigaOS 4.1 and works now faster ans more stable. Because it includes a 68k-core the player does not work properly for the additional audio output (MOD-, MP3-, SV8X- and WAV-files).
