AROS: June 2016 Highlights
Based on his weekly progress reports Krzysztof 'deadwood' Śmiechowicz is also publishing monthly updates regarding the latest AROS developments.

June's highlights include the results of the AROS 2016 usage survey, an update of the Icaros Desktop distribution and Śmiechowicz own work on updating his backports of the ABI_V0 compatible system files, which hadn#t been updated since late 2014. (snx)

Elbox: pci.library 11.0
At the title link Elbox released an update of their pci.library for the Mediator PCI bus-board. Version 11.0 includes a new procedure for allocation of PCI memory, which accelerates the boot process when multi-device PCI cards are used (e.g. USB controller Spider).

The new pci.library allows to re-allocate (free and allocate) PCI spaces from the driver for the specific PCI card. This is useful in case of PCI cards that do not report their PCI spaces typically (e.g. some PCI processor bridges). (snx)

Quick review: Arcade joysticks with Sanwa parts
A few months ago, the ArcadeForge shop startet offering Joysticks with a Atari/Commodore compatible connector that are built from high-quality Arcade parts manufactured by Sanwa and come with a case design that somewhat resembles a Competition Pro.The cases for these input devices, which are sold at 75 Euro, are made of wood, acryl and aluminum.

In the German forum on OpenHandhelds.org, a customer posted Im Forum von OpenHandhelds.org a quick review of the device. His photos clearly show several sharp edges and the individual parts of the case have been assembled with not enough care, apparently. The user also complains about the vendor's reaction to his objections regarding the product quality. (cg) (Translation: cg)

AmigaOne X5000: customers can "register interest" with A-EON
Using a form on the A-EON website, customers can now register their interest to order a X5000 system or motherboard (quote) "for the specific purpose of reserving an AmigaOne X5000 motherboard or complete system for a future order."

The site doesn't list any information regarding the scope of delivery or the price of the product. Meanwhile, users are sharing pictures of a promotional poster for the X5000 and a screenshot of a website that was or will be used for ordering a X5000 in IRC and on Facebook:

In both cases the price for a (undefined) 'complete system' is listed as 1415 UKP plus taxes. That would be roughly 1700 Euro. (cg)
