CCC: collective statement "data storage in unacceptable"
CCC: »In a collective statement advocats of data protection and consumer protection as well as journalists speak out against the "precautionary telecommunication data storage".

The systematic record and storage of information about the communication, movements and media use of the entire population ("precautionary data storage") without the approval of the people in question is unacceptable. This doesn't bring about a better protection from crime, costs millions of euros, endagers the privacy and security of innocent people, affects confidential communication and levels the way into a mass surveillance of the population, which is further extending.«
