Golem: Rambus, Toshiba and Elpida introduce XDR DRAM
»XDR DRAM runs next with 3.2 GHz, later with 6.4 GHz and higher. Together with Toshiba and Elpida, Rambus has introduced a new generation of memory. XDR DRAM uses the XDR memory interface (previously Yellowstone) from Rambus and runs at up to 3.2 GHz. Sony has just licensed the new technology for use with "Cell", the basis for Sony's PlayStation 3, among others.«
