G-Rex with 5 PCI Slots will be presented on WoA According to DCE the board was completely new designed and the production has already started. The board will be presented on the WoA in Cologne. Two new pictures of the board were published at CyberGFX-homepage. You can also look at a picture of CyberGraphX on a Voodoo 4-4500 there. Besides this there are news of the P96 team: On Saturday the programmer of Picasso96 probably will be present on the WoA2000. Tobias wrote: "Hi! Alex and I will probably attend the WoA 2000 in Cologne on Saturday. If you want to meet us (register Picasso96 or complain about our greed) just look out for us. ACSYS canceled After a last telephone call with programmer it is now official that the development of ACSYS (Turrican-clone) will be canceled. In our opinion for 86 interested people (result of a opinion poll) it is not worthy continuing the development. If the development will be continued by a third person the following applies: The complete code will be released as open source. Only the engine will be given as an object file. If a commercial publication is planned percentage share of the profit have to be given to us. The level has to be negotiated with the developer. If the game is going to be published as freeware we will waive the financial claims. PD,- shareware or something like that are not allowed. The level of development is at fifty percent. If there are competent programmers we would continue working on pictures if desired. We regret this decision and hope you show understanding of it. If you want to write something to this topic please mail to the programmer because I have no influence on it no longer. The homepage will be online during the next time. I will complete the list of interested people if I will get mails with this content. MPEG 4 available for Amiga soon Let me inform you about our new MPEG-4-based codec called 3ivx. You probably heard of DivX ;-) as a movie compression format. And indeed it's great. But we (the whole 3ivx.com team, under the supervising eye of Mr. Stux who has created the DivX ;-) Player for Mac) want to go a bit further. Our goal is to optimize compression so that the file size is smaller, of a higher quality and fully streamable. Moreover the codec will be supported on all platforms (Windows, Macintosh, BeOS, *nix (inlcuding Linux), Amiga ...). To accomplish this the code of the player will become an open source. COOLbits at WoA2000 The exhibition-page of COOLbits is online. Apart from a new version of FX-Scan they will present EaSys and Tales of Tamar at the exhibition. For all video-freaks there will be a stand-alone video-editiong-system CASABLANCA AVIO. We agreed with Irseesoft to sell there products at our booth. Haage&Partner: There are no problems with Genesis This morning a report comes up that blamed us for not having a valid license for shipping Genesis with the new AmigaOS. We strictly reject this charge. We have all rights that are needed to sell Genesis. We bought these rights from the manufacturer Active Technologies this August. We announced all of this 4 weeks later. We are very surprised about the campaign just one week before the start of the shipping of AmigaOS3.9. As planed, Amiga Inc. will start shipping it next Saturday. Bill McEwen will attend the exhibition at Cologne. I hope you will be there.
