 MorphOS: PolyOrganiser 0.76
PolyOrganiser von Frederic 'Polymere' Rignault ist ein so genanntes "PIM-Tool" (Personal Information Management), mit dem sich Termine, Kontakte und Aufgaben verwalten lassen (Screenshot). In der neuesten Version wurden kleinere Fehler beseitigt, außerdem gibt es jetzt zwei zusätzliche Popup-Menüs (Changelog).

 AHT Europe kündigt CeBIT-Teilnahme und AROS-Unterstützung an
Birmingham, 19. Februar 2005 - AHT Europe Ltd. wird als Aussteller an der CeBIT 2005 teilnehmen, die vom 10.-16. März in Hannover stattfindet.

Bei der CeBIT handelt es sich um die größte Messe der Welt und die internationale Leitmesse für Informationstechnik, Telekommunikation, Software und Services. Während AHT Europes Fokus bisher ausschließlich auf OEM-Kunden ruhte, schickt sich das Unternehmen nun an, auch den Endkundenmarkt direkt zu adressieren und sein eigenes Label für (High-End-) Settop-Boxen zu etablieren. Die ARIANA-Produktlinie wird auf der CeBIT offiziell vorgestellt werden. Sie finden den Stand von AHT Europe in Halle 25 an Position C75.

Des Weiteren freut sich AHT Europe bekannt geben zu können, künftig das Open-Source-Betriebssystem AROS aktiv zu unterstützen. Erste Entwicklergeräte werden in Kürze an AROS-Programmierer verschickt werden, weitere Fördermaßnahmen sind geplant. Mit der Erweiterung der Settop-Box ARIANA um die linuxgehostete Version von AROS bietet AHT Europe seinen Kunden in Zukunft ein zusätzliches, schlankes Betriebssystem mit intuitiver Benutzeroberfläche zwecks einfacher Homecomputer-Funktionalität an.

Ilkka "itix" Lehtoranta hat die Version von CD Player mit neuer grafischer Benutzerschnittstelle für MorphOS veröffentlicht (Screenshot).

Airstrike & Super Mario Clone

Pawel 'stefkos' Stefanski hat Updates der SDL-Spieleportierungen Airstrike und Super Mario Clone für MorphOS bereitgestellt. Letzteres benötigt die neue, fehlerbereinigte Version der powersdl_ttf.library, für welche der Autor Ilkka 'itix' Lehtoranta und Herbert 'HAK' Klackl dankt.

Des Weiteren sucht Pawel Stefanski Betatester für das Spiel Miliarderzy (MorphOS- und LinuxPPC-Version). Interessenten wenden sich bitte per E-Mail an den Autor.

 Update von OpenPCI auf Version 2.0
Benjamin Vernoux hat OpenPCI 2.0 für Pegasos I + II, Grex A1200/A4000, Amithlon, Prometheus und Mediator veröffentlicht. Auch das SDK wurde um weitere Beschreibungen, etliche Beispiele mit C-Quellcode und ein Tutorial, ebenfalls mit C-Quellcodebeispielen, erweitert. Das SDK kann per E-Mail vom Autor erfragt werden.

Änderungen in OpenPCI V2.0:
  • Optimierungen einiger Routinen
  • Neue Funktionen:
    • pci_physic_to_logic_addr()
    • pci_obtain_card()
    • pci_release_card()
  • Kompatibilität mit älteren Treibern, die für OpenPCI V1.x entwickelt wurden; es wird jedoch empfohlen, den neuen PCI-Karten-Arretierungsmechanismus zu nutzen (pci_obtain_card()/pci_release_card()), um Probleme mit Treibern zu vermeiden, die dieselbe PCI-Karte nutzen
  • Fehlerbereinigung der read & write_config für Prometheus
  • Verwendung des Arretierungsmechanismus der Prometheus, Grex und Amithlons
Diese Library wurde vom Autor unter Mediator, Prometheus, Grex und Amithlon nicht getestet, weshalb er um Feedback zu Tests unter eben genannten Systemen sowie dem Pegasos I + II bittet.

Neuerungen im OpenPCI-Realtek 8139 SANA2-Treiber:
  • Fehlerbereinigungen bezüglich Genesis und AmiTCP sowie möglicherweise weiterer TCP/IP-Stacks
  • Behebung der Probleme, wenn die Übertragungsgeschwindigkeit in den 100 Mb-Half- oder Full-Duplex-Modus gezwungen wird
  • Bereinigung der Latenzprobleme/des 'toten' Netzwerks infolge eines Fehlers im SANA2-Treiber
  • Optimierung des Interrupt-Codes sowie des Haupt-Quellcodes
OpenPCI-Terratech 512i/FM801 AHI-Treiber:
  • Nur 68k-Version enthalten (eine vollständig funktionierende MorphOS native Version sei bereits vorhanden und werde eventuell später veröffentlicht)
  • Vollplaybackmodus wird unterstützt
  • Aufnahmemodus wird nicht unterstützt

 GUI-Builder: ConfGui veröffentlicht
ConfGui ist ein GUI-Builder für Konfigurationsdateien. Es erzeugt eine grafische Benutzeroberfläche aus einer Skript-Datei und wird dann z. B. folgendermaßen aufgerufen: "confgui g=s:indent.dlg c=.indent.pro". Kurze Hilfstexte können als Bubble-Help angezeigt werden. Es erleichtert somit die Bedienung von Programmen mit vielen Konfigurationsparametern.

Bei intuitionbase.com, einer Webseite mit zahlreichen Informationen und Bildern zum AmigaOne und AmigaOS 4, wurden zwei neue Artikel veröffentlicht: Der eine ist eine detaillierte Anleitung zur Installation von SFS unter AmigaOS 4, der andere beschreibt die Installation und Nutzung von "Say" und anderen Hilfsmitteln zur Sprachausgabe, die mit frühen Versionen von AmigaOS ausgeliefert wurden.  Emulator: Update von ZX-Live auf Version 0.29
Der Sinclair ZX-Spectrum-48/128K- und Pentagon-128K-Emulator ZX-Live von Dmitriy Zhivilov liegt nun in der Version 0.29 vor.

Änderungen gegenüber der Vorgängerversion:
  • Unterstützung des HoBeta-Dateiformats hinzugefügt (.$?-Dateien, nur Laden)
  • TR-DOS-Diskimages mit .trk-Endung können nun auch geladen werden

 Catweasel MK4, C64DTV und C-One auf der Commodore-Show in Maarssen, Niederlande
Im Rahmen der Commodore-Show am 19. Februar am Trefpunt, Kerkweg 21 in Maarssen, Holland, wird auch Individual Computers mit der Catweasel MK4 und dem C-One vertreten sein.  Linux-PPC: Floppy-Patch V1.0
Pavel 'Sonic' Fedin hat einen Floppytreiber-Patch für den Linux-Kernel 2.6.8 erstellt, der es ermöglicht, Diskettenlaufwerke im Non-DMA-Modus auf dem Pegasos zu nutzen.

Zur Nutzung gehen Sie wie folgt vor:
  1. Erstellen Sie den Floppytreiber nicht als Modul, sondern binden Sie ihn statisch ein. Die Parameterübergabe von insmod ist zumindest beim Autor noch problematisch.
  2. Geben Sie bei den Kernelargumenten floppy=nodma an. Auch müssen Sie hier Ihren Laufwerkstyp mittels floppy=[Laufwerksnummer],[Laufwerkstyp],cmos spezifizieren. Für ein 1,44 MB-3,5"-Laufwerk (Typ 4) als Laufwerk 0 beispielsweise also floppy=0,4,cmos.
Dieser Patch beeinflusst den Treiber nicht im DMA-Modus, kann also auf jeder Plattform eingesetzt werden.

 WDR: Bahnhof Dortmund sucht C64-Experten (Ente)
Nach 20 Jahren hat der C64, der alle Anzeigetafeln des Dortmunder Hauptbahnhofs steuerte, den Geist aufgegeben. Nun erwartet die Bahn dringend einen C64-Experten.

Wie sich inzwischen herausstellte, handelte es sich um eine Falschmeldung des WDR. Im Bahnhof fand kein C64 Verwendung, sondern ein Intel-310-System mit einem 80286-Prozessor. (snx)
