April 10, 2002 Snoqualmie, WA Amiga, Inc. announced the release schedule
of the Amiga Anywhere Entertainment Pack #1 for Windows Powered Devices.
The Entertainment Pack will run on devices using Windows CE 3.0, Windows CE
.NET, Pocket PC, and Pocket PC 2002 including handhelds, smart phones, web
pads, and set-top boxes.
Since announcing a change from hardware to software Amiga has strived to create and distribute content that can run on numerous digital devices. "Amiga is now focused on the vision that all digital content should be available on all digital devices", said Bill McEwen, President and CEO of Amiga Inc. To that end Amiga has announced distribution of dozens of applications that can run on a wide range of different types of devices with hundreds more currently in development. The Amiga Anywhere Entertainment Pack #1 will provide an exciting experience for owners of Windows Powered handheld devices without using the amount of resources consumed by other applications. Amiga developers are creating rich content using few resources. The average size of an Amiga Anywhere application is under 300KB and yet delivers a more robust experience than titles that are over 2 MB in size. The Amiga Anywhere Entertainment Pack #1 will provide an exciting experience for owners of Windows Powered handheld devices without using the amount of resources consumed by other applications. Amiga developers are creating rich content using few resources. The average size of an Amiga Anywhere application is under 300KB and yet delivers a more robust experience than titles that are over 2 MB in size. The combination of the Windows CE operating system's multimedia functionality and Amiga's software solution allows developers to deliver rich applications for a broad range of Windows Powered devices. DeNIC: IT-Berufe mit Zukunft hautnah erleben IT-Berufe mit Zukunft hautnah erleben - DENIC eG öffnet für Mädchen nicht nur die Rechnerräume Der Domainverwalter beteiligt sich am 25. April 2002 am Girls' Day - Der Mädchen-Zukunftstag Kommunikation und Information gelten als die Zukunftsfelder schlechthin. Eine ganze Reihe von neuen Berufen ist in diesen Bereichen entstanden. Einen ersten Einblick können Mädchen am 2. Internationalen Girls' Day gewinnen, an dem sich auch die deutsche Domainregistrierungsstelle DENIC in Frankfurt beteiligt. An diesem Tag haben bundesweit junge Frauen die Möglichkeit, in Betrieben und Behörden den Berufsalltag kennen zu lernen.
Dass die Informationstechnik keine Männerdomäne mehr ist, davon können
sich junge Mädchen zwischen 11 und 16 Jahren (Klassen 5 bis 10) am
25. April 2002 selbst überzeugen. Ob als Informatikerin,
Softwareentwicklerin oder Netzwerkadministratorin - überall in der
IT-Branche stehen inzwischen mehr und mehr Frauen ihren "Mann".

IOSPIRIT gegründet, Übernahme der Innovative-Produkte Ende 2000 wurde fxSCAN 3.0, seit langem das erste Programm zur Texterkennung für den AMIGA, von Innovative offiziell vorgestellt. Das von den AMIGA-Usern heiß ersehnte Programm fand in den ersten Wochen einen solch reißenden Absatz, dass die Infrastruktur von Innovative nicht mehr Schritt halten konnte. Felix Schwarz, Autor solch leistungsfähiger und beliebter Grafikprogramme wie fxSCAN, fxPAINT, Ultraconv und VHI Studio, hat daher zu diesem Zeitpunkt beschlossen, Innovative, das bisher von ihm als AMIGA-Sparte des Softwareunternehmens seines Vaters geführt wurde, als eigenes Unternehmen auszugliedern, die gesamte interne Infrastruktur und Organisation zu erneuern, die Geschäftsbereiche zu erweitern, und den Service weiter auszubauen und zu verbessern. individual Computers unterstützt Commodore One Projekt Commodore One ist ein C-64 kompatibler Computer mit vielen zusätzlichen Features. Die Entwicklung läuft schon seit mehr als einem Jahr, und das Projekt ist nahe der Vollendung. Produktionsbeginn wird voraussichtlich innerhalb der nächsten drei Monate sein. Individual Computers unterstützt Jeri Ellsworth, die Entwicklerin des neuen Computers, mit Geld, Materialbeschaffung, und Wissen über Kleinserienproduktion. Das neue Board wird in Europa durch individual Computers vertrieben, so dass es bei allen Handelspartnern, die auf der Kontaktseite genannt sind, zu kaufen sein wird.
Jeri Ellsworth, die frühere Besitzerin der "Computer made easy" Ladenkette,
wird alle Retrocomputing-bezogenen Produkte aus unserer Produktlinie in
Nordamerika verkaufen: Retro Replay, den Catweasel Floppy Controller und
die Kombination "Retro Replay mit Silversurfer".
