Chess Game: HellChess Released (Update)
HellChess marks the appearance of a new chess game that is free in the Amiga version, and also of all things payment-required for the Linux, Windows, GameBoy Advanced, Palm and PocketPC versions in development (screenshots).
An excerpt of the features of the program (9 MB):
- Capable AI for the single player mode
- many exercise instructions
- many configuration options
- online play possibility through Direct Connect or the HellHound master server
A PPC/RTG Amiga version is still in development.
Update: (26th June 2004, 17:52, snx)
As the author commented, the next-released version of the game has problems with AGA/ECS, therefore the archive from yesterday has been replaced with an update. To that end there's an 8-bit version of the contained animations being worked on for systems without graphics cards. (snx) (Translation: dm)
