Sun director resigns
Scott McNealy, founding member and for 22 years CEO of the computer company Sun Microsystems, is now no longer running the business as a chairman but only as a member of the supervisory board. His successor will be the previous COO Jonathan Schwartz.
Sun Microsystems is predominantly active in the server section and supplies large companies and universities. Above all Sun is also known as the developer of the platform independent programming language Java.
However Sun has failed in the last couple of years to get rid of the deceleration in the development of their company. Indeed the turnover has increased year-on-year by 21 per cent to 3.2 billion US dollars, but the net loss increased as well from 28 billion dollars to 217 billion dollars.
