power.org: reference platform for Linux server
A model for a reference system for a Linux server suitable for mass production, which is based on PowerPC has been available for members of the power.org initiative since the end of June. The reference platform is referred to as "Power Architecture Platform Reference (PAPR)".
The publishing of real hardware with a PPC 970 processor is planned for the third quarter of the year. (cg) (Translation: iw)
