MUI clone: Zune for AFA OS 68k 0.97 beta 1
Bernd Roesch has released an update of his AmigaOS 3-port of the MUI clone Zune. Screenshots of YAM and Simple Mail running on Zune are available at the author's website. Zune requires AFA OS (AROS for Amiga OS), changes since the previous version:
  • At the startup of a Zune programme it will check if the stack is large enough (min. 30000 bytes). This way, crashes due to insufficient stack size can be avoided.
  • Every Zune programme may now access the prefs programme through the MUI menu, so locale preferences (screenmode, skin, etc.) are possible.
  • Zune_prefs was renamed Zune, because it is called that in AROS, too.
  • Lamp.mcc is now being modified by the Zune-Installer for Zune.
  • newstring.mcc from Aminet is now part of the Zune archive.
  • Bugfix: dtpic class (Homebank will start up now)
  • In YAM/SimpleMail now active String Gadgets at "window open" will be shown active correctly
  • Mui Keys (cursor keys etc.) work now
  • Nlist class now supports popup menues
  • NListviews work with > 2000 entries (AROS-Fix by Georg Steger)
  • Text display on buttons is now correct in JAM1
  • Borders of Nlist classes now will be drawn

For the final implementation of all MUI features only three more things are missing now:
  • Menu entries will always be displayed as available
  • The window coordinates will be remembered at the next opening of the window, but they will not be saved yet.
  • Keynotify does not work yet. Programmes likeYAM or SimpleMail use to, for example,. delete an email with the delete key.

The latest sources of Roesch's port are part of the AFA OS archive. (cg) (Translation: iw)
