Retro Area at gamescom 2025: A travel back in time
gamescom 2025, the world's largest video game trade fair, will take place in Cologne from August 20 to 24, 2025. A centerpiece of the event is the traditional Retro & Family Area, where retro fans will get their money's worth. The Retro Area in Hall 10.1 will feature numerous playable computer and console classics as well as arcade machines, many of them with new games and homebrew software. Visitors can take part in live events and stage interviews with scene legends and be entertained by chiptune artists, quiz rounds, and live music. The Retro Area is perfect for anyone looking for a break from the current AAA blockbuster program and wanting to immerse themselves in the vibrant history of digital gaming instead.
