Virus Help Team: AmigaOS 4 users wanted
The Virus Help Team have written the following request on their Yahoo Group: There has been a problem running antivirus programs with the AmigaOS 4. Jan Andersen has been in contact with Georg Horemann (VirusZ and XVS.library programmer), and the problems may be due to XVS. When a fix comes in, it would need to run properly on an OS4 system.

Request: If there are any Amiga OS4 users that are willing to use the new xvs.library (when available), could you:
  • go over to the VHT Forum and sign-up for a member name,
  • kindly do a post (i.e. saying you use AmigaOS 4) in the corresponding thread and
  • do your settings on the VHT Forum to keep track of that topic, then you will get an automatic e-mail when there is a new posting to the topic.
You could also sign-in and post any problems you already have or maybe a solution you have already found. (snx)

Aminet: two additional mirrors online, further changes
In addition to de4.aminet.net the Aminet servers it.aminet.net and uk.aminet.net are now online again, further mirrors will follow soon. Whoever wants to run an official Aminet mirror on his own and has the corresponding resources at his disposal is cordially invited to contact the Aminet team.

Contrary to former times Aminet mirrors now only act as pure download servers. A web interface is only available at www.aminet.net, the other servers will simply forward to this address. The download links of the web interfaces point to a random download Mirror - alternatively you may select your preferred download server in the setup area.

All servers are of course still available via FTP, uploads, however, will only be accepted by the main.aminet.net server

After more than 10 years, the legendary PD series "Fish Disks" is available on Aminet again: You will find all of the 1000 discs aswell as an index in the directory misc/fish.

Files without suffix won't be accepted anymore, as this makes the internal scripts unnecessarily complicated. All existing files without suffix will be either renamed or put into an LhA archive. (cg) (Translation: iw)
