AROS: A week in AROS (from 19.10.15)
Weekly Krzysztof 'Deadwood' Śmiechowicz summarizes the latest progresses and developments of the AROS-programmers.

Week of October 19th:
  • Firmware used in rPi2 port has been configured to a version working with AROS kernel (mschulz)
  • Zune test suite is now extended with tests of MUIA_List_Format, MUIA_List_Pool#? and MUIA_List_Title (neil)
  • Race conditions during layout in datatypes.library have been fixed (neil)
  • Work on USB support for Linux hosted AROS continues (DizzyOfCRN)
  • Propotype hotplug handling introduced in USB support for Linux hosted AROS (DizzyOfCRN)
  • Port range check in Poseidon fixed (DizzyOfCRN)

New A1200 cases: Funding completed
Via Kickstarter.com, Philippe Lang has established a project for producing an improved replacement case for the Amiga 1200 (amiga-news.de reported). This case also can take in other boards like the Amiga Reloaded, MiST or Raspberry Pi and has pre-cut sections for extensions.

Four days before the deadline, sufficient money has been sought to finance the production of the cases. By currently 127.955 Euro also the next target could be achieved: If 130.000 Euro would be paid, the 3D-model-files will be made available to the public. (snx) (Translation: dr)

New A1200 cases: More than 110.000-Euro paid, official Amiga-T-Shirts
Nine days before the end of the Kickstarter campaign, for the project for producing new, improved Amiga-1200 cases (amiga-news.de reported) over 110.000 Euro has been paid. The financial target is 125.000 Euro.

Now you can also support the project by purchasing official Amiga-T-Shirts. You can choose between three motifs.

From weekend on, there will be new special editions of the case of Lukhash. One version will be offered only once and includes a private extra of the 8-Bit musician, the other version is available, if you pay for more than ten pieces.

Additionally, the traders TheGamingWareHouse and AmigaStore support the project by offering coupons. The Polish Amiga portal PPA has invested in 60 cases with a special colour.

The latest special editions of a case is a package of the demo scene group Phenomena and of 010101 Music. The Phenomena-edition also includes an USB-stick, a T-Shirt, a mouse pad, a key fob, a cup and a surprise. The edition of 010101 Music includes four CD-albums ("Paula, Agnus, Denise", "Insert Disk 2", "Immortal 3" and "Immortal 4") as well as three cups. (snx) (Translation: dr)

Animation programm: Take 2 released
On request of Dan Schallock, Geert Vergauwe has gifted his programm "Take 2" and its source code to the Amiga community. The latest version Take 5 is commercially offered for x86-computers (Windows and Mac OS X).

In the 1980s and 1990s, Geert Vergauwe cooperated with Rombo, which is the supplier of the "Vidi" video digitizer, and they also developed Take 2 in order to be able craeting classic pencil animations.

The source code of Take 2 is available in assembler. The author only asks to send him any kind of further development of the programm. Dan Schallock has presented the programm during this years's AmiWest. (snx) (Translation: dr)
