Edgar Schwan (ANF)

AmigaOS 4: AbiWord 2.5.1 for Cygnix
Edgar Schwan has published a first version of AbiWord 2.5.1 for his x11-enviroment Cygnix. AbiWord is a professional word processing program with many functions:
  • Easy to learn interface
  • Very wide range of supported file formats like MS Word, WordPerfect, OpenOffice, OpenDocument and many more
  • Unlimited Undo and Redo
  • Solid (X)HTML export with CSS support
  • Import of graphics
  • Automatic spell aid. Support of ispell, aspell and myspell
  • Design patterns
  • Configurable index
  • and much more

Additionally the archive contains the KHTML based browser osb-browser for displaying the online-help which has the following features:
  • (X)HTML Rendering Engine with CSS support
  • Javascript support
  • SSL support

According to Schwan the browser has still some problems. Therefore it is not available for its own. For displaying the online help the program is a good solution. Many Internet sites work proper, too. (cg) (Translation: dr)
