MorphOS: RuneSoft releases demo version of Robin Hood: The legend of Sherwood
Since today a demo version to the arcade strategy game "Robin Hood: The legend of Sherwood" is available for MorphOS and may be downloaded from the link below.

In "Robin Hood: The Legend of Sherwood" the player does not only take on the role of the hero Robin Hood, but also the roles of his faithful vassals and take them to the battle field against the nasty Prince John Lackland. In doing so you are able to enjoy the fabulous English landscape of 1190 as well as the giant castles and funny characters. The thrilling story is introduced by an award-winning introduction and transfers you directly into the hero's body with the first mission, in which you have to set the captive comrades free. Take up the battle against the oppressors and free the farmers from the Prince\s reign!

Be smart, be fast! Be Robin Hood!

System Requirements: Pegasos G3/G4 with 128 MB RAM and Radeon GFX Card, 1GB of hard disk space (full version only), CD ROM drive (full version only).

The full game for MorphOS will probably start shipping by the end of next week.

Individual Computers: Clone-A - a reimplementation of the Amiga custom chips
In an exclusive interview with the British print magazine Total Amiga, which will be published in the next issue, Jens Schönfeld of Individual Computers reveals his latest project: Since about one year Jens Schönfeld and Oliver Achten are working on an exact reproduction of the Amiga chip set.

The project, currently codenamed 'Clone-A', will be publically shown at the AmiWest (21st October, USA) for the first time: to demonstrate the compatibilty of that solutionn, a normal A500 will be shown which original custom chips are replaced with Clone-A prototypes. Visitors are invited to bring their own A-500 to the show to test Clone-A.

The next issue of Total Amiga will be released after the AmiWest, therefore the editors provide a pdf with excerpts of the interview now which covers the project, its history, the curent development state and detailed photos. (cg) (Translation: ub)

AmigaOS 4: Cinepaint, Gimp, vim and Xfce for Cygnix (X11)
Edgar Schwan has published ports of the picture editing softwares Cinepaint 0.21.1 and Gimp 1.2.5, of the text editor vim 7.0 and of the desktop manager Xfce 3.8.16 for AmigaOS. The programs require the X11-enviroment Cygnix.

These publishings are alpha versions that means that not all functions are already available. The development of the programs was stopped because of a lack of time. But the author hopes that the software could be interesting for some users in this level, too. (cg) (Translation: dr)
