Amiga-Emulator: FS-UAE 1.3.27
Frode Solheims FS-UAE (Screenshot) für Windows, Mac OS X 10.5+ (i386, PPC) und Linux (i386, AMD64) basiert auf WinUAE und ist komplett per Joypad bedienbar.
Änderungen in der Version 1.3.27:

Hollywood-Plugins jetzt auch für Android verfügbar
Die Entwicklungsumgebung Hollywood unterstützt seit Juli auch Googles Handheld-Betriebssystem Android. Inzwischen stehen auch die meisten Hollywood-Plugins für das Abspielen zusätzlicher Media-Formate unter Android zur Verfügung.
Die Plugins werden in jeweils zwei Varianten angeboten: Der sogenannte "armeabi"-Build erledigt Operationen mit Gleitkommazahlen in einer Software-Bibliothek ähnlich den von AmigaOS bekannten math*-Bibliotheken. Die "armeabi-v7a"-Versionen nutzen dagegen die erheblich schnellere Gleitkomma-Hardware moderner Prozessoren, die in sämtlichen neueren Android-Geräten verbaut werden - im Zweifelsfall gibt das Handbuch des jeweiligen Geräts Auskunft, ob Gleitkomma-Rechnungen per Hardware unterstützt werden.
Die Plugins müssen in das Verzeichnis "Hollywood/_Plugins" auf der SD-Karte des Android-Geräts installiert werden. Weitere Informationen sind den Android Release Notes zu entnehmen. (cg)

Veranstaltung: Saku 2012 in Oulu (Finnland)
Nächsten Samstag, am 29. September 2012, hält in Oulu die Finnische Amiga-Anwendergruppe ab 13 Uhr nach deren offizieller Zählweise zum 5. Mal ihr Saku-Treffen ab. Vertreten sind alle Amiga-Systeme vom Commodore-Rechner und Minimig über AmigaOS 4 und MorphOS bis AROS. Nachfolgend lesen Sie die offizielle Pressemitteilung.
OULU, FINLAND - September 22nd, 2012 - Finnish Amiga Users Group holds its 5th Saku event in Oulu, Finland on Saturday, September 29th. The event is free for anyone interested in the wide range of current Amiga compatible systems. Admittance is free of charge and refreshments will be available. Saku 2012 will start at 13:00 on September 29th at Oulun Tetra ground floor conference room at Mäkelininkatu 31.
There will be several classic and new generation Amiga compatible systems available for testing. Classic AmigaOS is running on several A1200 models and on an A4000/060 with three (you read it right, 3!) Picasso IV graphic cards. A SAM440ep system will be running the new AmigaOS 4, and the latest MorphOS 3 will be demonstrated both on a G4 Mac mini and a G4 Powerbook. AROS is running on a PC, and Minimig will also be available for testing.
Gaming is available on several classic Amiga systems. Linked games are played via two A1200/030 computers. The legendary A500 is also involved. A1200 expansions like the BlizzardPPC, BVision and Indivision AGA MK2 are among the hardware displayed, not forgetting the up to 16GB CF drives.
To celebrate the 30th anniversary of Commodore 64 we have a fully packed C64 with an LCD display and a keyboard, double SID chips, the MSSIAH MIDI expansion and a Turbo Chameleon multipurpose expansion cartridge. There will also be gaming competitions arranged on the C64.
Visitors can take part in several game competitions and a Hello World programming competition. Latest Amiga magazines are available for reading and visitors can also bring their used items for sale. Finnish Amiga retailer Gentle Eye will be present, and Effi ry is sponsoring the refreshments and also selling their support products. The user group has their promotional T-shirts for sale as well.

Workbench-Ersatz: X-bEnCH 0.7 (Betaversion)
Bei X-bEnCH handelt es sich um eine grafische Oberfläche mit 128 Farben, welche zum Starten von WHDLoad-Spielen (.slave, .exe) die Workbench ersetzt und wenig Ressourcen erfordert.
Das Programm läuft nach Angaben des Entwicklers auf allen Amigas von OCS bis AGA sowie vom 68000- bis zum 68060-Prozessor und benötigt im Betrieb sehr wenig Arbeitsspeicher.
Changes:
- Start faster than with the previous release
- Added a roto-starfield effect in the background of the main menu
- Now autoscan your keymap type (QWERTY, QWERTZ or AZERTY) and correctly assign the keys to the FastJump feature
- You can now disable the unused listing with the setup
- Added a rainbow effect to the title name of the displayed list in the launcher
- Launcher reactivity optimisation
- CLI fixed in many cases but maybe still buggy in some cases...
- Now the name of a listing can be up to 8 character long (5 previously)
- Now in the setup save the name of the listings if you change it either if you don't have updated any list
- Fixed many ugly visual bugs when opening/closing the display
- Fixed a redisplay bug in the Menuscreen and the launcher screen

AmigaOS 4: Tetris-Klon Nelipala 0.9
Nelipala ist ein SDL-basierter Tetris-Klon für AmigaOS 4 und Windows. Die Lauffähigkeit wurde vom Entwickler auf einem Sam440 getestet. Vollbildmodus und Geräuscheffekte werden in der Version 0.9 noch nicht unterstützt. (snx)

AmigaOS 4: AmiSystemRestore Release 1 Betaversion 4
Chris Handleys AmiSystemRestore führt eine Windows-ähnliche Systemwiederherstellung unter AmigaOS 4 ein, indem bspw. bei der Installation neuer Programme die Systemdateien (SYS:) gesichert werden.
Changes:
- Got rid of some common but mostly-harmless issues that were being reported in the debug log. Many thanks to those who reported them to me
- AISS is no-longer required
- The installer now handles problems better
- The main window now resizes when you change the "Show size of restore point" preference
- Improved the info reported in the debug log

Wettbewerb: Aktivster Teilnehmer auf intuitionbase.com gewinnt Amiga Future-Abo
Um die Aktivität auf dem AmigaOS 4-Portal intuitionbase.com zu steigern, hat sich das Team einen Wettbewerb ausgedacht: Wer bis zum 21. Oktober am meisten Punkte durch aktive Mitarbeit an den Inhalten der Webseite sammelt, gewinnt ein Jahresabo des Printmagazins Amiga Future.
Für das Ändern bestehender Einträge in den Software- und Hardware-Kompatibilitätslisten gibt es dabei einen Punkt, genau wie für die Ergänzung des Link-Verzeichnisses um neue, für AmigaOS 4 relevante Links. Zwei Punkte gibt es für neue Einträge in die Kompatibilitätslisten, während ein eigenständiger Artikel rund um AmigaOS 4 mit 10 Punkten belohnt wird.
Der Gewinner wird am 21. Oktober auf der AmiWest bekannt gegeben.

Amiga Inc.: Amiga-Klassiker für das Blackberry Playbook Tablet
Amiga Inc. hatte bereits in der Vergangenheit Amiga-Klassiker für Windows zum Kauf angeboten, möglich wurde dies durch den Einsatz einer modifizierten WinUAE-Version.
Einen ähnlichen Ansatz verfolgt man nun offenbar mit einem Angebot im offiziellen Shop für das Playbook Tablet von Blackberry: Neben diversen Titeln von Team 17 sind dort vom Anbieter "Amiga, Inc" auch die Turrican-Reihe sowie Xenon und Xenon 2 erhältlich. (cg)

Guillaume Boesels SysMon (nicht zu verwechseln mit dem gleichnamigen CLI-Programm von Etienne Vogt) ist MUI-basiert und ermöglicht die Identifikation und Entfernung eingefrorener Fenster, die Prioritätsänderung von Tasks und Prozessen sowie die Überwachung von Laufwerken, Assigns und Systeminformationen (Betriebssystem-Version, Prozessor, RAM, Betriebsdauer, Grafikkarte).

AmigaOS 4: RadeonHD-Treiber 0.53
Registrierte Kunden des durch A-EON Technology unterstützten RadeonHD-Treibers können unter dem Titellink dessen Version 0.53 für AmigaOS 4.1 (Update 5) kostenlos herunterladen.
Mit diesem Update sei der Treiber vollauf darauf vorbereitet, dass Hyperion Entertainment 3D-Unterstützung in AmigaOS 4 implementiere. Derweil setze Hans de Ruiter die Arbeiten an der Einbindung von HD7000-Karten fort, einige wichtige Verbesserungen - etwa Blitter-Beschleunigung - seien bereits implementiert.
Changes:
- VRAM buffer management is now fully implemented. The driver can now handle 3D drivers allocating more buffers than fits in VRAM
- Intelligent shadow buffering of VRAM buffers added - reducing the need to copy the buffer back out of VRAM should it be paged out again without being modified
- The RadeonHD_RM.resource is now enabled
