Graphics board: Denise adapter for ZZ9000
Already since January under the title link a Denise adapter for Lukas F. Hartmann's graphics board ZZ9000 has been available (amiga-news.de reported).

The adapter ZZ9500CX transfers the digital video signal of the custom chips to the graphics board to get the functionality of a scandoubler on the Amiga 500 or any other Amiga without a video slot. (snx) (Translation: dr)

AmigaOS 4: X11 environment AmiCygnix 1.5
Edgar Schwan's AmiCygnix is an Unix environment for AmigaOS 4. It is not an emulation but all programs has been compiled for AmigaOS 4. AmiCygnix provides a directory and data structure similar to an Unix installation.

In version 1.5 many problems have been solved but there are also new features like a new windows manager and new display drivers. The documentation now is available as PDF file.

New in AmiCygnix-Base:
  • This release now includes a new Window Manager called "Dynamic Window Manager" (dwm), recommended for use with programs launched from the standalone scripts. This window manager maximizes the main window of the program and does not add frames to the windows. This avoids duplicate frames, as in a workbench display and the use of the window manager Openbox.
  • A total of seven new display drivers have been added to the package. All drivers that do not use Picasso96 require graphics.library V54!
  • If a workbench display is iconized, the name of the icon now indicates the program started in it, if it was started with a standalone script.
  • The X server did not support special keys like "Page Up" or "Home" found on a PC keyboard. Also the NumLock key was not supported. This has now been implemented (thanks to Stefan Juhas for his hint!).
  • Under certain circumstances, the X server could freeze the entire system when starting or exiting. This particularly occurred in programs that were started with a standalone script. All display drivers have been revised for this and the problems should be resolved.
  • Fixed some bugs in myX11Setup and myX11SetupLight.
  • For some parts of the program, the Italian translation has been updated or recreated.
  • The display drivers xpicasso96clonewb and xpicasso96wb were revised for better performance, especially on 32bit screens.
  • The "lxpanel" desktop panel could crash under certain circumstances. Has been fixed. Also thanks to Samir for the hint!
  • The documentation in the "Docs" directory is now predominantly in PDF format.
New in AmiCygnix-Tools:
  • The start scripts have been adapted to the new windows manager.
  • The documentation also now is available as PDF file.

AmigaOS 4: Spreadsheet ignitionOS4 1.00
Achim Pankalla wrote: Under the title link version 1.00 of the spreadsheet "ignitionOS4" is available on the Sourceforge website. For more than ten years ignition has been open source and this is the sixth version of the AmigaOS-4 port.

This version no longer is calleds "beta" although it is not completely bug-free and a Grim Reaper might happen. Despite this many functions have been added and about 100 bugs/problems have been removed.
