Dragon 1200: Further Informations published
The organizers of the exhibition AmiZaduszki 2006 (amiga-news.de reported) have prepared informations, confirmed by Elbox, about the Coldfire board Dragon 1200 at the pages of the Polish Amiga-portal PPA. An English translation of the Polish announcement was provided by'yak'.

The first shipment of the Dragon 1200 is planned for the end of December this year. The speed of 68k software running at the Coldfire-Board could be compared with the speed of a 68040 to 68060 cpu.

Further details:
  • AmigaOS 3.9 would run at the Dragon 1200
  • The Dragon board could run as a stand alone unit, but not under AmigaOS 3.9, as this takes access to the Amiga hardware
  • An AROS port is under work
  • Software to convert 68k-assembler-source code for the Coldfire cpu should exist as well as a GCC-compiler for the Coldfire
  • The price without vat is calculated with 349 Euro, a discount for the return of a Mediator-busboard is planned
  • The former delays were caused by problems with the cpu's provided by Freescale, furthermore 68k emulation libraries provided by Freescale didn't work
  • Besides the Amiga market the Dragon-board (in a stand alone mode) addresses under Linux the industry; even Freescale is interested in this
  • A PowerPC option realized as a pci card for den Dragon could be possible
  • The Dragon's cpu module doesn't strictly depend on a Coldfire cpu, but a different cpu could be used in future
