AmigaOS 4: Vim 7.0 for AmiCygnix
Edgar Schwan has published Vim 7.0 for his X11-environment AmiCygnix. Vim is a text editor. It is an improved version of the vi-editor which is included in most of the UNIX-systems.

Vim is often called as "Programmer's Editor" - many users think of it as a complete IDE. Nevertheless it can be used for more. You can use Vim for writing eMails or editing configuration files.

This is the second release of Vim. The changes:
  • Working printer support
  • Executing external commands is supported now; therefore "Make" works now
  • Working localization
  • External command "ctags" for creating source code index files is included
  • GTK2 user interface
  • Compiled with complete ("huge") featureset - support of "from right to left writings" and much more
Download: vim.lha (11 MB) (snx) (Translation: dr)
