AROS meets Linux: AEROS published
AEROS is an AROS distribution published by Pascal Papara which uses the Linux-hosted version of AROS as desktop replacement for a Linux distribution. Linux applications can be launched with a Shell command from AROS. Linux and AROS applications can be run simultaneously.

AEROS is available as DVD-image (1,9GB) which works as live-DVD - in this mode the screen solution is limited to 800x600 pixels. After the boot routine the harddrive installation can be chosen via double click on the pictogram.

AEROS at least requires 512 MB RAM, 1 GB is recommended. And you should know how a harddrive can be partitioned under Linux.

The bug fixed release published today additionally includes adapted themes, updated system files (iconify now works) as well as new versions of the web browser OWB and the game Duke Nukem 3D. As new Linux applications Worker, Pitivi and Obconf (themes changer for Linux) were added.

The distribution also is available via torrent. (cg) (Translation: dr)
