Apollo team: End of Vampire V2 support
Press release: "Dear Vampire Community, after many years of development and dedication, the Apollo Team announces the End of Support (EoS) for the Vampire V2 family of accelerators.

Despite our original intent to continue maintaining the V2 line, it has become increasingly impractical to backport modern V4 developments. The technical gap between the V2 and V4 compile environments has grown significantly, and the Cyclone III FPGA used in the V2 boards is now fully utilized, and unsupported by the official Altera toolchain, leaving no room for further core or feature updates.

Furthermore, recent attempts to backport V4 improvements have proven to make the V2 core unstable, confirming that maintaining both codebases in parallel is no longer feasible.

As a result, official support for all Vampire V2 models will end effective immediately. The V2 channel on Discord has been put as read-only for historical purpose and will remain as it.

From October 23th 2025, any Vampire V2 accelerator boards sold by Majsta or other sources are considered unsupported products, and the Apollo Team will not provide assistance, updates, or compatibility fixes for them through any communication channel. From that date, any use of the Apollo Computer/Apollo Core names, logos and trademark will be qualified as non permitted.

We sincerely thank all V2 users for their trust, feedback, and enthusiasm over the years. Your support has been instrumental in bringing the Vampire project to where it is today. The Apollo Team remains committed to advancing the Amiga platform through ongoing development of the Vampire V4 and future generations." (snx)
