Game: New Schlachtfeld pictures
In spite of the turbulences around the Amiga-Society of course development of the Game Schlachtfeld is being continued.

Edgar Leiding rendered some units for the game's board, again. Thus now there are nine unit previews available - there will be some changes, of course. There will be a survey regarding the camouflage: the question is, if the enemies should use different colours (red, blue, ...) or should differ by different textures and/or tactical field signs. You can also post your opinion about that in the forum of the Schlachtfeld website. (ps) (Translation: mj)

Palmiga is now called amiga-pda
The Palmiga Project is a project for all Amiga users that own a PalmOS-PDA to use with their Amigas.

Palm Inc. wrote to me that the name is violating their trademark, combined with the request to change it.

Due to this the mailinglist can from now on be reached via "amiga-pda": http://groups.yahoo.com/group/amiga-pda. Assigned members should post to amiga-pda@yahoogroups.com.

The Pamiga website will be redesigned in the near future available at the URL http://amigapda.shredzone.de.

I want to let you know they have send their request in a very polite way against the trend without announcing any lawyers. :) (ps) (Translation: gf)

Attention: virus after EBay-auction?
Attention: virus after EBay-auction?
Attention: sellers and byers:
It seems that shortly after the end of an auction some sellers and byers got an e-mail with the sender of the seller or byer that contains a ".exe"-file.

Do not open this file! If you do your Windows-system will be infected with the "W95/Hybris.worm.B"-virus. Maybe this virus makes it possible to attack your system with a subseven program. EBay is allready informed. (ps) (Translation: sk)

nrnf: Voodoo3 Speedtest
Fabio Trotta wrote:
The day before yesterday when I wanted to post the Voodoo3-speedtest I recognized that there was a new version of the display driver. This was why I trashed all the findings and retested everything with this new versions of the P96 and W3D drivers.

Now my findings are available at the title link. I compared the speed of the Voodoo3, the CVPPC, PicassoIV and the AGA-chip. There are some 3D-game-tests and also 2D-graphicfunctions-tests available now. Find out what a Voodoo3 is able to offer you in your Amiga. (ps)

Amiga Future

History: ExoticA extended
The ExoticA website deals with the music capabilities and history of the Amiga.

On the website you will find exotic Amiga music, demo information, Amiga games cover-scans, utilities, disk magazines, and more of nostalgic and historic value from the Amiga world.

On 14. July 2001 the site was updated and many new things were added:
  • The 'BP-SoundMon-section' was extended.
  • Missing Newsflash issues were added - this disk magazine contains many exclusive software and music reviews.
  • 'The tracker history' is now online, again, and can be found in the 'Info-section'.
  • The 'Demo Scene Reference Manual' and 'The Demo Pack Reference Manual' were extended very much.
Closer information can be taken from the news site of ExoticA. (sd) (Translation: mj)

The end of Amiga-Society?
On 17. July 2001 the Amiga-Society would have had their first anniversary. After the initial problems on start-up, the end of A4EP, etc., etc., etc., the new page was taken offline (for the time being).

Hence among other sites also the mirror of the Big Book of Amiga Hardware and the new Schlachtfeld website were disabled. On 17. July an opinion poll shall determine whether or not we should continue the pages / projects. But the previous feedback rather indicates the end of the project.

Best regards,

Horst Diebel (sd) (Translation: mj)
