File manager: MCAmiga 0.9 for all Amiga systems (update)
Marcus 'ALB42' Sackrow's MCAmiga is a file manager inspired by Norton and Midnight Commander which can be completely used with the keyboard. Version 0.9 has been already released in August 2020 - we reported about it in our dominical Aminet uploads - but after poiting out by us, Marcus now has added the missing change log which we also want to share with our readers:
- difference viewer in tools menu
- basic highlighter for ini, patch/diff files
- BugFix for start from WBDock2
- startup scripts to directly start the viewer/diffviewer from shell
- Bugfix for file size
MCAmiga is available for AmigaOS (m68k, PPC), MorphOS and AROS (x86, x64, ARM). The programm at least requires 4 MB RAM.

According to the author meanwhile the AmigaOS-4 version does run on a X5000 since it has not been a MCAmiga bug, but a Free Pascal Bug which has been fixed.

Shoot'em Up: Screenshots and cover of "Inviyya", release in February
The shoot'em up Inviyya obviously is approaching completion: The game will be available on poly.play in February. On Indie Retro News you can see the cover of the box as well as some new screenshots.
Inviyya requires at least an Amiga 500 and is running at 50 frames per second. The game has six worlds with completely different enemies, six different upgrades of the weapon system as well a real final end sequence.

MorphOS: e-mail client Iris 0.99 (Update)
Jacek 'jacadcaps' Piszczek's "Iris" is going to be the standard e-mail client for MorphOS. It supports IMAP and is able to display as well as create HTML e-mails.
Compared to betaversion 94 released about two months ago, Iris 0.98 now utilises the core of Wayfarer instead of Odyssey. Additionally there are first localisations, improved navigation and several bug-fixes. For feedback to the author, the corresponding thread at MorphZone can be used.

Meanwhile version 0.99 is available. The update adds minor fixes and "Upload messages to Folder" functionality. (snx)

Self-made project: Real-time clock for 68000 Amigas
On Gitlab, Marcel 'Stumpi' Jähne has published documents for self-making a battery-buffered real-time clock for 68000-based Amigas, which "will fit directly under the 68k CPU or Turboboards for 68k sockets".

The source codes of 'AMOS Professional AGA' now have been released under the MIT licence on Github. 'AMOS Professional AGA' is an AGA port written by Frédéric Cordier of AMOS Professional. AmigaOS 4: Consoles and arcade emulator 'Final Burn Neo'
Hugues 'HunoPPC' Nouvel has ported the emulator Final Burn Neo to AmigaOS 4. The project is a combination of 'Final Burn', being an emulator for Capcom's CPS2 platform, as well as an older version of MAME. According to Nouvel is is a work-in-progress currently having done about 60%. Despite of that, already now almost 15.600 games can be played.
In order to be able to use the emulator, some archives have to be downloaded and extracted into the same directory. Additionally the project requires the library 'LibBoostyGfx' which is also developed by Nouvel. According to the author this "Donationware": Before starting the emulator for the first time, the library has to be registered requiring an Internet connection. A free keyfile is available on the download site. If instead you want to have a personalized keyfile, you are invited to make a little donation.

Operating system: MorphOS 3.15, Software Development Kit 3.16
Press release: The MorphOS development team is proud to announce the immediate availability of MorphOS 3.15. This release includes numerous important performance, stability and security improvements. In particular, various serious bugs affecting a wide range of system components and included applications have been fixed, and many components based on open source projects have been updated to their latest versions. The Odyssey web browser also performs better when browsing HTTPS sites due to improved certificate validation performance.
For a more extensive overview of the changes included in MorphOS 3.15, please read our release notes.
We strongly urge new users to carefully read our installation and troubleshooting guides before they attempt to install MorphOS for the first time. Existing users can upgrade via the familiar procedure but are encouraged to read the guides as well. MorphOS 3.15 is available for download in our files section.
MorphOS Software Development Kit 3.16
This release offers countless improvements in our compilers, includes, libnix, GeekGadget environment and tools. We've included GCC 10, GDB, unzip and nano, and removed GCC 8. GCC 7 and 9 received updates fixing various bugs. libpthread was fixed and improved in various ways to provide more complete threading support. Binutils, OpenSSL, Perl, cURL, Git and OpenSSH, among others, were also updated. The full list of changes may be found in the SDK.readme file included in the distribution.

MorphOS: Web browser Wayfarer 1.10
Jacek 'jacadcaps' Piszczek has released version 1.10 of his web browser Wayfarer.
MorphOS 3.14 and 1 GB RAM are required. A processor with at least 1,5 GHz is recommended. For giving feedback please use the corresponding discussion on morphzone, the integrated crash reporter or send an eMail to wayfarer at wayfarer.icu.
Changes:
- Fixed a potential crash in AHI code
- Implemented an audio player, including audio in video files
- Codec coverage basically the same as in Odyssey, with Opus and MPEG-TS support added
- Implemented HLS chunk-based media playback for many live radio streams
- Configurable popup on media load, with download option
- Fixed a case where mouse pointer would no longer change above links after scrolling with mmb
- Fixed not to mangle the file path after resuming a download with name prefix set
- Fixed to disable menus in several popup windows
- Fixed to ensure the Sessions folder is always present
- Worked around a race condition in MUI where it would crash trying to show a help bubble for a tab being closed at the same time

Platform game: Super-Go-Down-The-Hole
Erik "earok" Hogan's "Super-Go-Down-The-Hole" (video) is a platform game which was created using Hogan's Game Construction Kit Scorpion Engine. The game still is in beta staus. The author asks for your feedback if there are any issues. The sound in the game only is a placeholder and will be replaced.

Clipboard manager: ClipViewer 1.12
ClipViewer is a Clipboard manager for AmigaOS 3.x and AmigaOS 4 sold by A-EON Technology as part of the Enhancer Software package. Version 1.12 is free for customers who bought either the standalone release in 2016 or the commercial version of Enhancer Software.
The update utilises toolbar.gadget class released a few days ago on Updater utility.
Features of ClipViewer:
- View clips easily and quickly in a list
- Search clips for keywords
- Organise and save clips to files
- Edit selected clips in configured applications such as MultiEdit or MultiViewer
- Stays resident in memory (started from WBStartUp)
- Can be invoked at any time with hotkey combination or directly in supported applications

WHDLoad: New installers until 26.12.2020
Using WHDLoad, games, scene demos and intros by cracking groups, which were originally designed to run only from floppy disks, can be installed on harddisk. The following installers have been added until 26.12.2020:

"Komoda & Amiga Plus" is dedicated to retro gaming mainly concentrating on Commodore's 8-Bit computers and Amigas. Among others the latest issue includes reviews to 'Smarty and The Nasty Gluttons', 'Fred`s Journey' and 'Tapper', a report on ASCII Art on the Amiga as well as a survey on Lucasfilm Games on 8-bit Commodore computers.

ACube Systems is happy to see a new update for AmigaOS and MorphOS. We would like to make a small party with Amiga users in these difficult times. We then decided to make a small gift to the Amiga and MorphOS Community.
To celebrate the recent release of Update 2 for AmigaOS4.1 FE and MorphOS 3.14, we built a small batch of Sam460cr boards that will be available with a Christmas bundle of the following games:

Virus Help Team: New Bootblock virus Game Over
Again a new bootblock virus was found, called "Game Over". The Virus Help Team describes it as dangerous "due to no antivirus program can find it" but also because the virus injects its code into different places "where there is room on the host disk, so it does not overwrite any data".

Hyperion: Update 2 for AmigaOS 4.1 Final Edition available for download
Press release: Hyperion Entertainment is proud to announce the immediate release of update 2 for AmigaOS 4.1 Final Edition. Update 2 is by far the largest update ever released for AmigaOS and includes more than 200 updated components with hundreds of bug fixes, improvements and new features and six completely new OS components. The update is the combined effort of four years of AmigaOS development and will bring AmigaOS4.1 Final Edition to a completely new level of stability and usability.

Deluxe Edition of Black Dawn Rebirth available, expansion pack announced
Purchasers of the Dungeon Crawler "Black Down Rebirth", released in Autumn 2019, now can download the "Deluxe Edition" for free which fixes some bugs of the original versiont. Additionally a map editor as well as the full source code are included.
For 2021 the expansion pack "Black Dawn Rogue" was announced which replaces the existing story mode by a mode of randomly generated levels similar to Rogue.

FreePascal: Docker container to develop for AmigaOS 4 / LCL for AROS64
Development of FreePascal software within a Docker container (amiga-news.de reported) is now also possible for AmigaOS 4. Besides this, Marcus 'ALB42' Sackrow has compiled the Pascal-based Lazarus Component Library (LCL) for the 64-bit version of AROS as well - still containing a few bugs for now, though. (snx)

AROS: Distribution Icaros Desktop 2.3 for patrons and beta testers
After a longer beta phase, Paolo Besser has released an update of his AROS distribution Icaros Desktop. As main new feature the developer has mentioned a highly reworked "HostBridge" (allowing to start Windows or Linux applications from a hosted AROS). Additionally diverse included applications have been added or updated, e.g. the spreadsheet application "Leu 0.08" or "SilkRAW", a RapaGUI-based front-end for dcraw. If you are going to support Besser on patreon.com, you will get immediately access to this new version 2.3. Otherwise the new version will be available for everyone after a while.

Encryption protocol:: AmiSSL 4.7 (AmigaOS 3/4)
The open source encryption protocol AmiSSL has been updated to version 4.7 and is fully compatible to IBrowse 2.5.3.
Changes:

Text editor: Amiga Source Editor 1.2 (2019)
The "Amiga Source Editor" (ASE) is a text editor written by Alain Fontanin. He started to develop it in 1989 but stopped it in 1991. When Fontanin watched the documentary "Viva Amiga" last year, he was reminded "of this beautiful time". Since he no longer develops anything on Mac, he decided to "carry out this personal project and redevelop ASE".
Unfortunately he could not find any of the source codes except the "linked list manager (GLC) which had been published in 1991 in "le Petit Amiga Illustré". Additional to the source codes, he also lost the ASE distribution disks which he is looking for. They were distributed in France at Free Distribution SoftWare (FDS) with the number SH 1064. If anyone finds or has it please write the author.
ASE is a "multi-document" text editor: "You can open as many documents as your activity requires or your machine allows (especially in terms of memory and CPU power). The theoretical limit of the number of lines per document is 4.2 billion! The theoretical limit of the number of characters per line is 4.2 billion! ASE2019 has 1 level 'undo' function and Select / Copy / Cut / Paste editing functions." According to the author the editor runs on Amigas equipped with Kickstart zwischen 2.04 until 3.1, higher versions he could not test under FS-UAE. But we can confirm that ASE2019 also runs fine under OS3.9

Game Construction Kit: RedPill 0.84
RedPill developed by Carlos Peris is a Game Construction Kit written in AmiBlitz2, which can help developing games of diverse genres - see our little review of two games. Recently a preview video of the forthcoming game "Putter" has been released being also developed with RedPill. RedPill is compatible to AGA and ECS, the "player" requires a total of 1,5 MB RAM.
Changes in version 0.84:
- Pipeline fully moved to Amiblitz 3.8. Libs are now from this version.
- Input key functions replaced to be compatible with ApolloOs.
- Auto slice fixes to allow bigger sprite areas, stack reviewed.
- In Sprite Sheet screen now the start frame and end frame of the sheet is displayed.
- Added some more checks to auto slice.
- FIX: Start shape was badly calculated for sprite sheets bigger than 2.
- FIX: Only first sprite sheet was exported.
