Music: second Psyria album / homepage update
Press release After almost two years now time has come. 3H Records is proud to announce the release of the new Psyria album on August, 10th in regular resale shops (e.g. Saturn), Internet shops (e.g. Amazon) and all known download portals (e.g. Musicload).
"The 2. Chapter" offers 14 titles for all Techno, Trance, Dance, Electronial and Retro enthusiasts who like the sound of Psyria.
Furthermore the homepage of Psyria got a huge update. In the download area there are now preview snips of the new CD and all snips as one filed "preview in the mix".
In addition an old-new title is available as free download. "Dream Dimension" is now exclusively as studio mix available in the download area.
Those who do not want to wait for the official release date have already now the possibility to get the new CD directly from the label 3H Records.
I want to mention that the Psyria homepage is still Amiga browser friendly and this won't change (tested with Ibrowse & Voyager). (snx) (Translation: wk)

OnyxSoft: Updates of six programs
The developer team OnyxSoft has published updates of six of his programs. They mainly contain bug fixes. Only Annotate has got some new functions.
Please note that the OnyxSoft homepage will be updated only in a few days. Therefore it seems that the files there would be old versions.
- Annotate 2.6 - (OS4) A very comprehensive text editor with a lot of functions. These are the major updates since the public release v2.5:
- Syntax highlighting with current support for C/C++, Amiga-E, AmigaGuide and XML
- Unlimited Undo/Redo: Annotate can remember where in a file you last edited and scroll there when the file is opened
- Double/tripple-click to select word, syntactic phrase, line or bracket contents
- Plus a few bugfixes since v2.5.3
- AllKeys 2.2 - (OS4, MOS) Hotkey program supporting most multimedia-keys and mousebuttons. Fixed a problem with the ARexx command being split between the ARexx command and CLI command fields
- BackUp 1.45 - (68k) Backup program that mirrors a directory structure. Fixed the annoying hit (=Grim Reaper on OS4) when starting the program
- DRemind 1.71 - (68k) Reminder program with Daily/Weekly/Monthly/Yearly/Single/Day- or Time interval reminds which will show as a small window and/or execute a file or Arexx command. Fixed a couple of more bugs regarding the prefs file and other things. You may get a warning if you have made reminds using DRemindPrefs v2.70
- DECH 1.48 - (68k) A small GUI for CLI-only compilers such as ec, gcc, vbcc, make, etc. Now using the system font also for the main GUI. Fixed the annoying hit (=Grim Reaper on OS4) when opening any of the config windows sometimes
- JoinSplitter 1.31 - (68k) Split and join files with a GUI. Fixed the annoying hit (=Grim Reaper on OS4) when starting the program

Press release Dear friends of the roleplay game, dear players, friends and supporter of Tales of Tamar,

fights, 640 years of love, death and betrayal, 640 years of heros,
villains, dragons and virgins...
The world of Tales of Tamar starts in the 640th year. That is worth enough to give it a new design and to be ripe for the future...
We are glad and proud to present a reworked homepage of Tales of Tamar which has a completely reworked design, new graphics, clearer impression and some "hidden" surprise like completely new wallpapers.
Enjoy the new designed forum, more lively then ever before...
As eMail game with one round per day we give you the possibility to lead an empire although you have only few minutes a day.
Visit www.tamar.net, be part of the future of the chronicles of Tamar and create the future of a whole world - so in hundred years the world will tell stories of you.
For our Amiga friends: We tried to make compatible our site with the current Amiga browsers. Unfortunataly this will become more and more difficult. If you find special bugs we would be glad if you send a mail with a screenshot or a detailed description to Wolfen@tamar.net. We will try to support the Amiga commuity in future as well.

Spectrum emulator ASp 0.89b
ASp emulates Sinclair's ZX Spectrum on the Amiga. ASp is RTG-compatible and also works under AmigaOS 4. Changes in version 0.89b:
- Problems fixed when Asp was used as default tool for snapshot pictograms
- No GUI-problems if the audio ressources can not be correctly allocated
- All "workarounds" fixed for bugs in OS4-JIT. ASp 0.89b now requires the latest version of OS4.
The archive with version 0.89b only contains the emulator and requires a correctly installed ASp 0.89.

AmigaOS 4.0 July 2007 Update Available
Press release:
Leuven, Belgium - 18. July, 2007
Hyperion Entertainment VOF is pleased to announce the immediate availability for download for registered customers of another service update of Amiga OS 4.0 which addresses some outstanding issues and introduces substantial new functionality.
The new functionality includes:
- A new ExecSG kernel. The new kernel includes, among other things:
- Support for guard-page protected stacks. Stacks will have guard pages at their bottom to prevent programs to write over innocent memory
- A new semaphore-type called Mutex that is Forbid-Free.
- Support for the new pthreads-module
- A new library that supports most of the POSIX thread (pthreads) API
A new ELF library that implements UN*X-type shared objects and dynamic linking. Shared objects are files that are loaded during runtime of a program and become part of the program's memory image. They have access to symbols and procedures of the main program as well as any other shared object loaded.
- Amiga Python 2.5.1 is a brand-new port of the Python language interpreter. This port is implemented as a shared object, so other programs can easily interface with it. See the Python Homepage.
- The latest version of the Sirion USB stack
- Numerous bug fixes. Please consult the included documentation for more details.
We once again wish to take this opportunity to reassure our customers that development of Amiga OS 4.x continues apace on a number of platforms.

Amiga Future: web site updated, new sections added
Press release: The Amiga Future homepage has got a comprehensive update the last few days:
The article database has been technically updated. The number of pages will not be displayed one below the other but next to the other. So there's no need for scrolling.
The font size has been fixed aswell. Furthermore the search engine works properly in the article database again.
Using the article database you can read about roughly 1500 articles on the Amiga Future homepage.
A new links database has been installed. All links from the old database have been transferred to the new one. Many thanks at this point to Robin who has realized the old database.
Now we want to expand the new database further. Have we chosen suitable section names? Are there any missing sections? Missing links? Then please write us.
Also newly installed is the calendar on the Amiga Future homepage.
Here you can find all important appointments of the Amiga scene worldwide.
Registered users are able to add their own dates and appointments to the calendar database just like adding articles to the article database.
We hope that you like the new expansions of the Amiga Future page and that you'll contribute to them. Besides that we will have a new FAQ and lexicon the next days.
At this point many thanks go to Trima and Marco for their support.

- Removed alot of un-needed code, to gain usable memory (GnoStiC and cmf)
- Optimized code to gain speed (GnoStiC)
- Added alot of defines to gain speed (FOL and GnoStiC)
- Added define to allow 10.5MB of memory, not limited to 6MB anymore (FOL and cmf)
- Changed the delay and latency on sound to gain speed (FOL)
- Changed PSPUAE cpu cycle unit to 1, gave stable speed increase (FOL)
- Removed 0 from Auto Frame Skip, pointless as it slows emu down when hitting 0 (FOL)
- Removed Interpol code as it was broken since 0.60, removing this gave speed increase (GnoStiC)
- Fixed memory selection, now only valid amiga memory configs are selectable (cmf)
- Fixed Crash, where if no Backdrop was present PSPUAE would crash PSP (FOL and cmf)
- Fixed Interrupts setting in sound, as it was still produing sound (FOL and GnoStiC)

RandomWBPatt: Error correction
Roland 'RhoSigma' Heyder points out that in the current version 5.410 of his program RandomWBPatt, a runtime error ("Unexpected Runtime Error") can come by.
This error can be corrected by deleting the #?.done file(s) in the SYS:Prefs/Presets directory.
The background is a format change of these files compared with the previous version. The author apologizes for having neglected to point this out in the documentation.
RandomWBPatt is a CLI program that changes the file entries in WBPattern.prefs in the ENV:sys directory at certain time intervals and thus prompts IPrefs to update the Workbench with the new pictures. (snx) (Translation: cad)

Movie Tron celebrates 25th anniversary
In 1982 Disney`s Tron started in the cinemas. The movie is about a programmer (played by Jeff Bridges) who gets "digitized" and finds himself inside a computer where he is forced to play the gladiatorial games he wrote.
Tron was something of a milestone for computer-generated imagery.
After 25 years Computerworld spoke with John Knoll, a visual effects supervisor at Industrial Light &
Magic. Knoll served as visual effects supervisor for such films as Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith, Pirates of the Caribbean, Star Trek: First Contact and Mission: Impossible.
The racing game which got famous from the film is available as Open-Source for
several platforms as GLtron. (nba) (Translation: dr)

Unlike previous years, the main event on Saturday is to take place on a large tour coach, which will stop at various places of historical interest, while seminars take place on board the bus.
The Codex Alpe Adria attendees will have a chance to explore

AmigaSYS: Announcement of Version 3 Plus / New Website
Kris writes: AmigaSYS is a preinstalled workbench for the Amiga emulator WinUAE with a lot of features and extensions. After the successful installation AmigaSYS offers a workbench providing everything for an initial start - similar to the projects like AIAB (Amiga In A Box) or AmiKit.
The new internet site is available in three languages (Hungarian, English and German), but is currently under work.
The new version of the package "AmigaSYS 3 Plus" will probably be finished within the next two or three weeks and provided for free download. Here are some features of the new and improved version:
- Completely new installer script for the versions 3.0, 3.1, 3.9, AF as well as XL which allows a two or three times faster installation
- Depending on the chosen language not only the os, but possibly all applications are started with the relevant language
- The new version excels with a better German and English translation
- New AmigaSYS-add-on packages have been prepared
- The system is optimized and most of the programs have been replaced with newer versions and heavily tested
- The whole package was shrinked about several MB through optimization measures and therefore meets better the demands of modem users.
The project is guided by the German Amiga Community and the new version will be also available at their website . (snx) (Translation: tz)
