AmigaOS 4: Simple sequencer Seq 1.2
Tuomas Hokka's "Seq" is "simple MIDI step sequencer" for AmigaOS 4. It provides some quick editing functions and has some features for live
performance. Patterns can be loaded and saved in the standard MIDI file format 1. Besides, several patterns can be loaded one after another and then arranged to a set of up to 32 sequences. Version 1.2 of Seq makes it easier to choose MIDI clusters.

AmigaOS 4: Update for game "Huenison"
Huenison is an arcade game in retro look for AmigaOS 4 and Windows, which according to the developer combines elements of Arkanoid, Decathlon, Dynablaster, Impossible Mission, Oil's Well, Pac-Man, Pang, Qix, Slam Tilt, Space Invaders, Tetris and Vital Light. The game is available for 4.99 USD and now has been updated providing some minor improvements. The website of the game moved to retream.itch.io/huenison.

Preview videos: Vertical shooter "EgoWings"
For some time Javier Alcaniz (code) and Carlos 'Estrayk' Del Alamo (music) have been working on a vertically scrolling shoot'em up developed with AMOS. The game runs on each Amiga with at least 1 MB RAM. Now some first videos have been published which show the current level of development which the authors describe as "alpha":
The blog of the developers has not been updated since July 2015 but a first demo version of the game is supposed to be availble before Christmas.

AmigaOS 4: SDK-Browser 2.0.0.100
Ten years after the public release of the SDK Browser v1.6.0.0, Jamie Krueger has released an update of his SDK-browser. In 2008 he became official member of the development team of Amiga Inc.
The SDK-browser is supposed to provide a comfortable interface to developers for using the OS4 developer documentation. For example it shows the prototypes of any system calls or finds methods, structures or tag items.

AROS: October 2016 Highlights
Based on his weekly news on the progresses of the operating system AROS, Krzysztof 'deadwood' Śmiechowicz also summarizes the results for a month under the title link.
"In October the AROS repository breached 53000 commits mark thank to contributions from multiple developers. Neil Cafferkey continued his work on improving MUI as well as fixed the IntelGMA video driver. Miloslav Martinka contributed further Czech localization as well as localized WiMP tool. Yannick Erb and Marcus Sackrow contributed fixes to AROS programs and we saw introduction of new AROS GUI theme. Lastly ARM Linux hosted version of AROS has been fixed to compile again as part of ABIv0 refresh by Krzysztof Smiechowicz.
After September's explosion of distributions, October was quiet on that front. 3rd party developers however continued their work. Yannick Erb released updated version of ZuneView tool and Joerg Renkert released new version of his ModExplorer application for playing online and offline music modules. AROS archives also saw upload of two interesting Zelda-type games, Time to Triumph und Navi's Quest."

AmigaOS 4: Spreadsheet ignition with OpenDocument support
Achim Pankalla has released an "addon" for the spreadsheet program ignition - which he maintains and has adapted to AmigaOS 4 - that adds support for the OpenDocument-format which is used by OpenOffice and LibreOffice.
The addon requires ignition 1.0 beta 4 and can load and save documents the suffix ods. It is the first public release which still cannot convert all formulas and functions ignition can calculate. Besides, currently only a few optical attributes (font) are accepted.

Jérôme 'Glames' Senay's 'Ask Me Up' is a one to five player quiz game for AmigaOS 4, MorphOS and Windows featuring 17000 questions in 17 categories. A demo version containing 80 questions is available for free.
In version 2.7.0 among others the German, English, Frech and Swedish translations have been improved as well as some questions in the themes "People" und "Entertainment" updated.

Event: AmiCamp #5 in Athens
Press release: AmiCamp #5, the Amiga event for all the Greek Amiga Users, will take place in Athens (Greece) on Saturday, 10th, and Sunday, 11th of December. It will be open to the public and all the Amiga enthusiasts who keep using and having fun with their Amigas, especially the Next Generation ones.
Visitors will have the chance to watch presentations about the major operating systems (AmigaOS 4, MorphOS). Programming competition: AmiGameJam 2016
This year the AmiGameJam 2016 has the theme "TV Shows and Movies". It is also allowed to enter a festive/Christmas-themed game instead. Until December 31st you have to create a new Amiga game with at least a playable demo version (one level) to participate.
The winners will be selected in an online vote, possibly completed by votes of prominent jurors from the Amiga scene. The best games ranked 1st, 2nd and 3rd are honored as well as best game in the category "Amiga NG".

Hyperion announcing AmigaOS 4.1 Final Edition Update #1
Press release: Hyperion Entertainment is pleased to announce the pre-release version of AmigaOS 4.1 Final Edition Update #1 especially adapted for the latest next-generation AmigaOne X5000 computer developed by A-EON Technology Ltd.
The pre-release version of AmigaOS 4.1 Final Edition Update #1 is an official update to AmigaOS 4.1 Final Edition released by Hyperion Entertainment in 2014. It is the combined result of many many years of effort by the core AmigaOS developers, translators and beta testers and includes a number of bug fixes and updates to the original AmigaOS 4.1 Final Edition release.
AmigaOS 4.1 Final Edition Update #1 is scheduled to be released by Hyperion Entertainment for all supported systems before the end of 2016.
The pre-release version for AmigaOne X5000 will be replaced by a future full AmigaOS 4.1 Final Edition update. Until that time registered AmigaOne X5000 owners will be able to download machine specific critical updates and bug fixes as and when they become available and will be entitled to a free digital copy of the full AmigaOS 4.1 Final Edition Update #1 when it is released by Hyperion Entertainment. Calendar for 2017 with Amiga themes for printing
Amiga fan "ptyerman" has created three calendars with Amiga themes, which other users can print and hang them on the wall. The calendars are written in English and use the paper size 450x582 and 582x450mm which are quite unusual for Central Europeans.

Demo scene: Voting for charts of seventh issue of "Versus"
After a longer break, the scene group Nukleus and VOID are going to release a new issue of his "chart mag" Versus. Versions for Amiga (OCS) and AmigaOS 4 are planned. On the website of Nukleaus a votesheet was established, where you can vote for your favourite coder, graphic artist, productions or parties. It is not necessary to vote in all sections or to nominate five candidates. The organizers hope to get as much feedback as possible to create the charts as representative as possible.

Press release: The Collectors Edition of ENEMY 2: Missing in Action is now available! It includes a slightly updated version of the game on disk, a manual with a poster and a telescope box with Cover-Art from Ogan Kandemiroglu. AROS: EdiSyn 0.55 and Mapparium 0.7 for ARM
Marcus Sackrow's text editor EdiSyn for AROS offers tabs and syntax highlighting for C/C++, Pascal, HTML and Hollywood. Version 0.55 for the first time and exclusively is available for ARM-based AROS-systems, which now remebers recently opened files.

Visual effects Pioneer: Ron Thornton died
"After a short battle with liver disease" Ron Thornton died on 21. November 2016. He was 59. Together with Paul Beigle-Bryant, he was one of the pioneers using computers for creating visual effects for space films.
His animations created on an Amiga with the videotoaster and Newteks LightWave 3D have had a formative influence on the TV serie "Babylon 5". For the pilot of this serie, "The Gathering", in 1993 he received the Emmy, the most important award for TV in USA.

Game Construction Kit: RedPill 0.4.4 (alpha)
RedPill is a Game Construction Kit written in AmiBlitz2, which is supposed to help developing games of diverse genres - released videos show ports of Pacman and Pang. RedPill is compatible to AGA and ECS, the "player" for running the finished games requires 1 MB Chip as well as some Fast-RAM.
On Internet so far there only is a closed Facebook group, but you can contact the authors via eMail. The latest alpha version can be downloaded via Google Drive.
Now the RedPill editor tries not to use a FPU. More changes of version 0.4.4:
- Tiles can have 3 shapes: Normal, Ramp Up and Ramp Down. Define them in the Tiles screen.
- Audio: Amiga Mods can be played. Define them in the audio menu and use Play Mod trigger to play them. They are loaded at play moment, it is better to play them once at the start of the level.
- Audio: Amiga IFF sounds can be played. Define them in the audio menu and use Play Sound trigger to play them.
- Sprite color Remap now gives an error message when failing.
- Sprite generation from sprite sheets is more robust.
- Physics and platform code has been redone (again) to support the new tile shapes.
- GameObjects process has been slightly optimized.
- When editting values the previous value is not lost anymore.
- When editing levels now you can use F to flood fill the current tile.

Game: BOH-Update 17, new website
There is a free update for Simone Bevilacqua's commercial "Dungeon-crawler" BOH (among others available for AmigaOS 4, AROS). Besides, the website moved and can be now found under the title link.
Changes:
- Adds 17 new missions (5 very easy, 8 easy, 4 average)
- Improves 43 missions by means of new/revised hints, little changes to the layouts, and other changes
- Marks training missions with a dedicated icon
- Adds the remote control icon to the HUD
- Adds graphics interpolation to enemy sprites
- Improves some graphics and shooting sound effects
- Adds specific sound effects to the theme "C64"
- Renames some missions and most themes
- Reworks the manuals entirely
- Reworks the soundtrack artwork entirely
- Allows to run the game on Windows 10 as a normal user (due to changes in the Windows files handling policy, it had become necessary to run the game as administrator)
- Fixes the resetting of the timer due to the focus loss auto-pause when the game was already paused
- Applies various other changes/optimizations

Kickstarter: New keycaps for Amiga keyboards
Last year, Philipp Lang and his team achieved the production of new A1200 cases via Kickstarter. The production just has started. As completion now new keycaps are supoposed to be produced which are compatible with existing Amiga keyboards.
About 67.000 Euro has to be collected cia Kickstarter to start the production. One set of keycaps consist of all necessary keys Tasten (some of them in different sizes to be compatible with as many as possible Amiga computers), new springs as well as plastic clips for sticking some of the bigger keys like SPACE or ENTER. The sets will be available with German, British and American layout. Additionally a lot of different colours will be offered, some of them as limited editions.
A single set will cost 49 Euro in the Kickstarter campaign, but there also will be diverse special editions for a higher sum of money. Please note, that all Dollar prices - unless otherwise specified - on the project website are not in US but in Singapore-Dollar ("SGD"). At the beginning of the project website, the maintainers give information how to convert the prices into USD or Euro

Video-Review: ARMIGA, ARM-based Amiga emulating microconsole
"The Game Show" has released a video review of the ARM-based Amiga emulating microconsole ARMIGA. In March the ARMIGA-project was started via crowdfunding, meanwhile you can buy the devices in a webshop. A special feature of the ARMIGA is the built-in disk drive which can read Amiga disks.

CD1200 prototype in Retro-Computer-Museum in Leicester
The CD-drive CD1200, which was introduced by Commodore at the CeBIT 1994, should make the Amiga 1200 compatible with the CD³² by using the integrated Akiko-chip. There are two prototypes, a gray one which Ryan Czerwinski ("Merlancia") own and the white one, which was presented at the CeBIT.
During the last months, readers of Amiga.org discussed where the white CD1200 could be located. The producer of the podcast "The Retro Hour", Ravi Abbott, has found it in the Retro-Computer-Museum in Leicester, proved by photos under the title link.

After several beta versions, now Frode Solheim has released a "stable" one of the Amiga emulator FS-UAE. There are ports for Windows, Mac OS and different Linux and BSD versions. Changes since the last release:
- Alt+F4 and Cmd+Q will no longer quit FS-UAE (in full keyboard emulation mode)
- Use raw input on Windows again (allows grabbing of Windows keys, etc)
- New option raw_input = 0 will disable use of raw input for keyboard
- Fixed loading shaders from fs-uae.dat
- Updated Xbox 360 configs for Linux
Changes in FS-UAE Launcher 2.8.1:
- Fixed problem where rating could be reset for first loaded game/variant

For a while, Eric Schwartz, well-known by his Cartoon characters like "Amy" or "Rachel Racoon", creates music videos for existing songs, in which animated Amiga computers play the leading role. Audio-Player: AmigaAMP 3.17 with support of Prisma Megamix
According to Thomas "TomSoniq" Wenzel in the German comment section of amiga-news.de, he has ported version 3 of AmigaAMP which so far was only available for AmigaOS 4 to AmigaOS 3. AmigaAMP 3.17 plays MP3-files as well as the formats M4A, OGG and FLAC. In order to be able to play that formats, the hardware decoder "Prisma Megamix" is supported which was recently released. MHI-drivers are used to control it.
According Wenzel the codec on the decoder card is considered to be a little bit unstable. Therefore the player and decoder may happen to stop running synchronously, if the user does fast-forward and rewind within a track.

ModExplorer 0.9b for all Amiga systems
Similar to AmiModRadio, the Hollywood-programm ModExplorer plays music modules from the Internet but also supports the Aminet, Modland and modules.pl.
- Some bugs have been fixed
- The GUI was slightly changed. Now it should fit (with the corresponding MUI options) on a screen with simple PAL solution. The author himself even could handle a solution of 390*241.
- The ARexx-port was expanded and a little Doc explains the commands
- A button "last" was added. If you should forget pressing the button in time while streaming (the playlist is not updated with new songs utomatically), you can get to the "last" mod which was downloaded.
- Skin-GUI was completely removed
- In order to reduce the download time, the archive does not contain any executables any more.

Hardware-Audio-Player: Prisma Megamix Music Card available
The "Prisma Megamix Music Card", which was originally advertised using the slightly misleading term 'sound card', is now available at Amigakit. Thanks to a built-in hardware decoder, the card plays various music formats (e.g. MP2, MP3, WMA, OGG) without putting stress on the Amiga's CPU.. It has both a Zorro and a Clockport interface. A properly isolated version that can be used in the original Amiga 1200 desktop case is said to be "coming soon".

Emulator: Preview to WinUAE 3.4.0
As usual the developers of the well-known Amiga emulator WinUAE present a short preview to the changes of the next version. The main focus of version 3.4.0 is the emulation of further hardware extensions as well as the improvement of already emulated extensions. WinUAE 3.4.0 is supposed to be released in December.

Updates:
- Reduced input latency.
- Reduced WASAPI sound mode latency.
- WinPCap network mode now uses generated local MAC address, no more
MAC conflicts between Windows and emulated Amiga.
- If some RAM board is not JIT Direct capable, only board's access mode
changes to JIT Indirect. Global JIT Direct option is not switched off.
- Most RAM size/position related JIT Direct restrictions are gone.
- Environment variables in file paths (%VAR%) are now always expanded.
- Implemented AGA only bitplane DMA overrun emulation (Moon Child).
- Host path 260 character limit removed (Windows 10 v1607+ only)
Bug fixes:
- Shortcuts with Shift key work again.
- Custom Game Port remapping does not disappear mysteriously.
- Mounting file with size less than 512 bytes as a harddrive work again.
- CDTV statefiles fixed.
- On the fly directory/archive mounting only worked once under OS4.x.
- Worms DC and ACSYS (possibly others) graphics glitch fixed.
- Bad sprite collision optimization fixed (Jumpman Junior).
- Stop PPC emulation first, before freeing any emulation resources
to prevent random crashes at exit.
- FPS.Adj config file handling fixed.
- ATAPI CD emulation odd data size fix (HDToolbox hang)
- default.uae with unplugged device: set to none, not layout A

Dune II: "Spice Obsession"-Mod 0.6
"Spice Obsession" is a mod of the realtime strategy classic Dune II. In version 0.6 a new level was added to the campaign. Five of nine planned levels have been finished with it.
