AmigaOS 4 / MorphOS: Ask Me Up 2.4.3 auf CD in einer DVD-Box
Jérôme 'Glames' Senay's Ask Me Up "is a video game about general knowledge" for AmigaOS 4 and MorphOS (as well as for Android, Linux and Windows), where you have to answer a question by choosing an answer out of four. Version 2.4.3 now is available on CD ("pressed" quality), in a black DVD case with booklet of 12 pages (written in French, English and Spanish) which is supposed to be available at different Amiga traders soon.
Most important changes of version 2.4.3:
- Now released in CD edition
- Questions fixed (including new French regions)
- New Portuguese and Swedish translations added
- Link added in the game to the German web page (if that language is chosen)
- Documentation update with notably, Spanish translation improved (V1.03)
- High scores sharing document also released in Greek

Playstation-Emulator: FPSE 0.10.5 for all Amiga systems
The "Free Play Station Emulator" (FPSE) now is available in version 0.10.5 for AmigaOS 3/4, MorphOS and AROS/x86. The plugin, which emulates joypads using the lowlevel.library, now can use two joysticks to emulate PSX-Joypads. Besides, a SDK for the development of the plugin is available.

ACube und A-EON: PPC motherboard A1222 "Tabor" revealed
The hardware vendors ACube and A-EON seem to have established a partnership: during the German "Amiga 30" event, a new PPC motherboard named "A1222" or "Tabor" was discussed for the first time. There are no official statements yet, but the information that has reached us so far suggests the following specifications:
- Dualcore 1,2Ghz, CPU not known yet
- 8Gb DDR 3 RAM
- MiniITX form factor
- price between 700 and 1000 Euro
Two pictures that were posted to the italian Amiga portal ikirsektor.it show the actual motherboard aswell as printed manuals for installing Linux on the "A1222":

According to visitors of the "Amiga 30" event, a QorIQ P1022 is used as Tabor's CPU. This processor is equipped with a FPU that is incompatible to that of most other Power CPUs - especially those used in AmigaOS 4 hardware. Apparently, emulating a 'regular' FPU in software is possible - though having to perform all floating point calculations in software would drastically reduce performance in some areas (graphics, sound, 3D). WebGL: Amiga-Juggler-animation as an example programm
Under the title link, Eric Graham's animation "The Juggler" created in 1986/87 was reimplemented using WebGL so all commands are submitted directly to the graphic card. Since the source code is available, this raytracing can be used as an example programm.

Operating system: NetBSD 7.0

Shoot'em Up: Richard Löwenstein (Amiga Joker) develops RESHOOT
Richard Löwenstein has restarted a project: He is going to finish a Shoot'em-Up game for AGA-Amigas named "RESHOOT" which was started developing twenty years ago. He will demonstrate the current level of development on Saturday at the "Amiga 30" in Neuss.

AROS: Aros Vision RTG 2.9.6
The latest RTG-version of Olaf Schönweiß' AROS/68k-distribution "Aros Vision" includes a new design, new sound effects for different GUI-actions and has been updated with the latest versions of Zune and Limpidclock.
Thanks to the new version of the MUI-clone Zune, now several MUI-applications do work - among others the configuration of SimpleMail. YAM now is also part of the distribution.
Additionally Aros Vision RTG 2.9.6 includes new versions of InstallerGen, GCC, the Hollywood-Plugins, ScummVM RTG, Amiblitz, Magellan and Netsurf.

New A1200-cases: Further special editions
The Kickstarter-project for new Amiga-1200-cases (amiga-news.de reported) so far has collected 78.500 Euro. That means, during the next 30 days 50.000 Euro has to be paid to achieve the finacial goal.
Two new special editions may help to achieve this:
- The Amiga Works - Allister Brimble Special Edition:
Two years ago, the computer game composer Allister Brimble published his album The Amiga Works, which is included in this special edition additional to a poster and the soundtrack-CD of the game "Alien Breed 3D" created by Bjørn Lynne.
- Skid Row Limited Edition:
The special edition of the cracker group Skid Row includes a T-Shirt, a cup, a poster, a surprise as well as a book - either Brian Bagnall's "Commodore: The Amiga Years" or "Hackers" written by Steven Levy.
If you are going to support the project, you can also purchase three official Amiga cups as a set together with the other things. Additionally, there is also a new signature: RJ Mical.

MUI for AmigaOS: MUI4.0-2015R3
The team of "MUI for AmigaOS" has released a new version of MUI 4.0 for AmigaOS 3.x and AmigaOS 4. Additional to bug fixes und tweaks, the MUI-requesters now show pictures next to the text which is similar to AmigaOS 4. All details are listed in the version history, included in the archive.

AROS: A week in AROS (from 14.09.15)
Weekly Krzysztof 'Deadwood' Śmiechowicz summarizes the latest progresses and developments of the AROS-programmers.
Week of September 14th:
- Title MUI class now adds padding around inner objects which protects it from beeing damaged (deadwood)
- Changing active tab in the Group MUI class no longer causes flicker (deadwood)
- Context menu functions in sub classes of Listtree MUI class now work as expected (deadwood)
- Pictures section on AROS website have been re-organized (mazze)
Week of September 21st:
- Handling of MUI_List_Visible attribute of List MUI class when list is hidden has been fixed (neil)

Hollywood: HTTP-Streamer-Plugin
Press release: Airsoft Softwair - the hardest work men in code business - are proud to present a brand-new plugin for Hollywood: The HTTP Streamer. This plugin allows Hollywood scripts to open files stored on HTTP servers as if they were local files.
Furthermore, the plugin also supports streaming of audio and video files via HTTP if the AVCodec plugin is installed. This finally makes it possible to do video and audio streaming with Hollywood which opens up a whole new range of possibilities for developers! Once this plugin has been activated, all Hollywood functions that deal with files will "automagically" be able to open files from HTTP sources as if they were stored on a local drive. It just doesn't get any more convenient!
The HTTP Streamer uses a sophisticated multi-threaded design for highly efficient HTTP streaming. Each HTTP connection is managed by a dedicated thread for optimal performance. This means that even when dealing with slower connections, Hollywood itself will never become sluggish or anything as all HTTP I/O runs on dedicated threads.
The HTTP Streamer is the second plugin to bear the Powered by Hollywood 6.0 seal of quality as it utilizes the new file adapter plugin interface and the streaming APIs introduced with Hollywood 6.0. The plugin will not work with older versions of Hollywood. That's why we here at Airsoft Softwair say: Life starts at 6.0.
The HTTP Streamer is available free of charge and can be downloaded from the official Hollywood portal Versions for AmigaOS 3, AmigaOS 4, MorphOS, AROS (i386), Windows, Mac OS X (PowerPC and i386), Linux (PowerPC, i386, ARM) and Android are provided.
Please note that video and audio streaming requires at least version 1.3 of the AVCodec plugin.

Hardware: SCSI-adapter for SD-cards
Using SCSI2SD it is possible to use SD-cards as SCSI-harddrives. The adapter is available in two different versions: Additional to the 3,5" standard version, there is also a 2,5"-version meant for Apple's PowerBook, which can replace its internal harddrive.
The adapter was tested with the following Amiga models:
- Amiga 500+ with GVP A530
- Amiga 500 KS 1.3 with Oktagon 508 SCSI-2 controller
- Amiga 2000 (B2000 rev 6.4 ECS) with DKB RapidFire SCSI 1 card
- Amiga 4000 equipped with CyberStorm PPC using 68 pin adapter
Since the developers ship the SCSI2SD-adapter from Australia and another trader is situated in China, Alex Perez currently offers the 3,5"-version from USA in two different options, which include a SD-card with 4 GB or 256 MB.

Trademark rights: Scene-World-Podcast-Interview with Commodore Business Machines
In its 13th issue, the English-language podcast Scene World has interviewed Massimo Canigiani and Paolo Besser. Canigiani is chief executive officer (CEO) of "Commodore Business Machines Ltd." registered in Great Britain which is going to sell a commercial Android smartphone as "Commodore PET" (amiga-news.de reported).
But there is also direct connection to the Amiga section because Paolo Besser is well-known for his most popular AROS-Distribution Icaros Desktop. Therefore as Amiga emulator of the smartphone the AROS-Kickstart-ROM is used.
In this interview Canigiani and Besser clarified, that they are not only going to make quick money with the "Commodore PET", which will be delivered in a few weeks, but in future also develop separate products. The users can configure many options by themselves. Therefore the smartphone can be rooted without losing the warranty. Only if you use ROMs of your own, This guarantee expires immediately.
They also cooperate with the authors of the emulator to ensure an optimal adaption. While the emulation in the original version would not have run completly fluently on a similar Galaxy S5 now it does.

Amiga-Emulator: FS-UAE 2.6.1 and FS-UAE 2.7.0dev
Frode Solheim's FS-UAE is available for Windows, Mac OS X, Linux and BSD and based on WinUAE and "includes an easy-to-use graphical configuration program which allows you to enjoy FS-UAE and Amiga emulation without writing configuration files." Version 2.6.1 supplants the last stable release 2.4.1 and among others offers the following features (full changelog):
- Updated emulation code from WinUAE 3.1.0
- Support for PPC emulation (can run AmigaOS 4.x) via QEMU-UAE plugin
- More emulated hardware support (Toccata, A2061, Picasso IV, …)
- Better support for modern OS versions due to using SDL 2.0
- Built-in support for multiple displays, and fixes for HiDPI displays
- The Launcher supports modern OS versions better due to using QT 5.x
- Much improved FS-UAE Launcher user interface
- FS-UAE mouse integration (Workbench cursor follows host cursor)
- Updated internal kickstart replacement from AROS
- Dual joystick/mouse mode for joystick port 0
- Official builds for SteamOS (Linux + Steam runtime)
- OS X apps are now digitally signed (Apple Developer ID)
- Support for JIT direct memory access (much faster JIT)
- More gamepads are recognized out of the box
- Many bug fixes
Version 2.7.0 of FS-UAE was also released and is the development branch. This beta version offers the following changes:
- Merged JIT compiler updates from the ARAnyM project
- Support for JIT compilation on x86-64 (Linux/Windows/OS X). It may contain bugs yet. FPU JIT is currently disabled by default for x86-64
- JIT 64-bit direct memory exception handlers for Linux/Windows/OS X
- Compile FS-UAE / Windows as large address aware for more virtual memory
- Updated emulation core from WinUAE 3200b12

Announcement: Games industry simulation Game Tycoon 2 also for Amiga
According to the developer on the website of the project, the successor of the games industry simulation "Game Tycoon" which was released in 2003, is supposed to be available at the end of October via "Steam Early Access" for Windows. At the same time a website for an Amiga version of the game has been established, which announces a port for Amiga ECS-systems for 2017 and maybe an "an optimized version for AGA" but which "isn't sure".

Amiga 1200: Repair part sets turned up
Parallel to the Kickstarter project for a new A1200-case, Petro Tyschtschenko has procured original repair part sets for the Amiga 1200 and offers them under the title link.
On Facebook he wrote in a non-public section in German: Thank you for the first orders at shop.boingbox.de. Actually they are new and original repair sets from 1997, which have become deposited by an Amiga user for 18 years. Choice articles which have not gone yellow or scratched. Partly the A1200-keyboards are packaged in plastic. UK and German version. To provide some support to the community, I agreed to manage the complete order processing.

AnimWebConverter 2.0 (AmigaOS 3/4, MorphOS)
AnimWebConverter is a little Hollywood programm for AmigaOS 3/4 and MorphOS which can convert IFF-animations of the Anim- or Yafa-format into animated GIF- and PNG-files. It can also change the size. The new version provides an improved user-interface and it is also possible to export single frames as image file. Besides, some bugs have been fixed.

Interview with David Pleasance (Commodore UK)
In 2013 for the French magazine "Amiga Power", Philippe Ferruci has interviewed David Pleasance - who is the former executive director of Commodore UK. After the bankruptcy of the parent company, Commodore UK tried to acquire it but was supplanted by Escom. The interview now has been published as English and French version on the website of Obligement.

Podcast: Amicast 6 (Engl.), interview with Philippe Lang (A1200 case project)
The sixth issue of the English-language podcast Amicast is about the Kickstarter project for extensible A1200 replacement cases und interviewed its initiator, Philippe Lang.
He talked about the way from the idea to the sepcial editions, the forthcoming project for new Amiga keyboards and the licence given by Amiga Inc. (amiga-news.de reported). So far 56 % of the required amount of money has been payed. You can still support the project for 45 days.

AmigaOS 4 / MorphOS: Ask Me Up 2.4.2
Jérôme 'Glames' Senay's Ask Me Up is a puzzle game for AmigaOS 4 and MorphOS (as well as Android, Linux and Windows) in which you have to answer correctly questions on common knowledge, each with four possible answers. In the L and XL edition there is also a two-player mode. A demo version with 80 questions is available for free.

FPGA: Minimig-AGA-Core 1.1 for MiST-board
For the Atari-/Amiga-clone MiST (amiga-news.de reported), the FPGA-reimplementation of the Amiga with AGA-support is available in version 1.1.
This release mainly fixes bugs. The developers ask you to mind the readme-file - e.g. the AROS-ROM currently does not work together with the Minimig-IDE-implementation.
Changes:
- Fixed mouse issues (fixes games Like Ishar 1, 2, 3, Robinson's Requiem, and many cracktros)
- Fixed keyboard issues (fixes game Walker and probably many others)

Keyboard adapter: Sum A600
Following Amiga models 1200, 2000, 3000 and, if an additional converter is added, also 500 (amiga-news.de reported), a version of the "Sum" keyboqard adapter is available now for the Amiga 600, enabling usage of a USB keyboard (photo).
Sum provides built-in USB stack which enables USB HID keyboards support without the need for installing additional AmigaOS software drivers. The device’s installation procedure consists of simply attaching it to the U7 chip located on the A600’s motherboard.

- Support for both USB HID and USB-PS/2 keyboards
- A600 compatibility (U7 chip-attached)
- Built-in USB stack
- Configuration mode (activated by R-Shift + Pause key combination)

Week of August 31st:
- Intuition is now using nominal resolution provided by the driver (Kalamatee)
- vbam is now compiled for x86_64 (Kalamatee)
- Boot task is now properly finalized (Kalamatee)
- Autodocs documentation has been updated from source code (mazze)
- Exiting MUI List class "quiet" state now causes proper scroll bar update (deadwood)

AROS: Rebol-3 preview version
Kevin Janzer has ported Carl Sassenrath's script language Rebol 3 to AROS/i386. The preview version still has the following limitations:
- Commands requiring default web browser do not work
- Running rebol scripts from r3 command do not work so instead you can run them with the 'do' function, e.g. do %helloworld.r
- Chat does not work

After the collective order, Loriano Pagni offers a second charge of Amiga-keys for keyboards with Cherry-MX-compatible keyboards.

New Amiga 1200 case: Relaunch of Kickstarter project with "Amiga"-licence
In July a Kickstarter project for a new Amiga 1200 case was established (amiga-news.de reported several times). During the campaign the project has been changed and improved several times but the aimed amount of money has not been achieved. Now the project was relaunched and 58 days before it will end, 44.000 Euro has been given (35 %).
Additional to a longer period of time, the relaunch also features the licence of the trademark "Amiga", which will be on top of the case.
The finacial goal of the project has not changed and is 125.000 Euro. The case is compatible to the original A1200, to the Amiga Reloaded and the FPGA-computer MiST as well as to the Raspberry Pi.

AROS: Odyssey Web Browser 1.25 (beta version)
As announced, Krzysztof 'Deadwood' Śmiechowicz is working on an AROS-port of a current version of the MorphOS web browser Odyssey. Now beta version 1.25 has been released.
The AROS distribution Icaros Desktop 2.03 or a compatible system is required. Additionally some system files have to be updated. The new beta version should not be installed into a directory which contains a previous version of the browser.

AmigaOS 4: SDK for Final Edition released
According to Hyperion Entertainment under the title link, for developers the Software Development Kit (SDK) for the "Final Edition" of AmigaOS 4.1 has been released.

Bootdisk-Creator: Amiga911 Maker 1.62
Using the Amiga911 Maker, you can create boot disk under AmigaOS 3.0/3.1, which contains some tools which are compressed by LZX or XPK. This requires an Amiga with at least 1 MB RAM, recommended are 2 MB.
Changes in version 1.62:
- Amiga911 Maker is now a kind of "All In One" type of solution, which means that apart from the main copyrighted system files, it includes everything needed for creating boot disks. This consists of two new archives called A911-ProgramsA.lha & A911-ProgramsB.lha, which contains all major files of the various programs that can be added to the projects.
- Four new programs are now supported: DiskSalv4 (disk salvage program by Dave Haynie), MaxTransTest (tests the MaxTransfer value of a partition), PFSSalv2 (save files from damaged PFS partitions) and SFSSalv (recover files from damaged SFS partitions).
- Upon booting the Amiga911 disk or Emergency Disk II, you can now press & hold either of the Crtl, Shift, Alt or Amiga keys to enter DosBoot mode (boot directly to Dos instead of Workbench). This will also open a new DosBoot menu, where you among other things can easily edit the Startup-Sequence of the disk, by just pressing a few keys.
- Amiga911 Maker does now have a new Prefs window with various options. The most important one is the "Use Workbench ADF image files as copy sources" option, which as the title suggests, may allow you to use Workbench ADF images instead of real disks whenever A911Maker wants to copy files from them. By enabling & properly configuring this functionality, A911Maker will then automatically try to mount the ADF's as virtual drives whenever it's required.
- Another option in A911Maker Prefs is "Expert Mode". If enabled, it will make it possible to include stuff that really requires a 68020 CPU as minimum to 68000 based projects (Poseidon, SFS, DiskImage & JanoEditor). This option is mainly meant for those who know what they're doing (hence the option name).
- SysInfo 4.0 has now replaced the old 3.24 version of the program.
- All Amiga911 disks, regardless of OS version, can now contain HDToolBox 40.4 and FastFileSystem 40.1.
- Version 2.3 of PFS3 All-In-One (AIO) has been added, and it will now always use the original name pfs3_aio-handler instead of PFS3-AIO.
- AmigaOS 2.x projects can now contain SmartFileSystem 1.58, which is the last known version of SFS that works with OS 2.x
- Two new text files will be added to all A911Maker projects: ProgsInfo gives some info about the programs included on the disk/pack, and HDSetupTips will provide various hints that might be useful when setting up a harddisk on the Amiga. Examples of this includes what DosType and MaxTransfer values to use.
- A third-party alternative of the Mount command will now be included on all Amiga911 disks. The OS2.0 version will also from now on include standard device mount files.
- The Most textviewer replaces xMore on Amiga911 disks for OS2.x, the reason for this is because it turned out that xMore really isn't that 2.x compatible. Most will now always be included on the A911Extras disks/packs as well.
- New solution regarding the HDToolBox & HDInstTools icons on the Amiga911 disk! If the icon tooltypes needs to be edited, just do this and save the changes. Now select "HD Icon To Disk" from the WB menu, and the icon will be copied to the Amiga911 disk. This new icon will then have priority over the one present in the lzx archive.
- A911Extras disk/pack can now include HDToolBox. It will also contain a special version of the SystemXtra script, and the System & Tools drawers have now been merged into a single SysTools drawer. There is also a new Docs drawer as well. AmigaGuide can now only be included on OS2.x versions of A911Extras.
- FileMaster3 can now be added to AmigaOS 2.1 projects since it turned out that the 68000 version actually works with this OS version (it just crashes on 2.0 though). There are however a couple of workarounds involved, because certain functions will just crash the Amiga. One example is the internal ILBM viewer, which will be overridden by another added button.
- New 8 color settings for DiskMaster2, FileMaster3 and Ordering. It's really recommended that these are used instead of the 16 color ones on Amigas with OCS/ECS chipset since they should be a little bit snappier.
- If FileMaster3 is added to your project, the bgui_palette.gadget file will now be included as well. This makes it possible to configure all parts of FM3.
- RTPatch is now included on Amiga911 disks for OS2.0. The reason for this is to solve the asl.library 37.x vs 38.x problem, where certain programs requires version 38.x of the library, while others just crashes with it.
- The StartProgram script that's included on the boot disks have been cleaned up a little, and it will now only contain the stuff that is relevant to the actual programs present on the floppy disk.
- If AmigaGuide support should not be included on the Amiga911 disk, a new very simple executable called MulTiView will be added to the floppy. Whenever it's run, MulTiView will open either the xMore or Most text viewer (which are now located in C:). The reason for this solution is to save on the Ram usage when Amiga911 are booted on low-mem Amigas.
- Page 3 of "Configure system" in Amiga911 Maker has been slightly changed. The SFSTools & PFSTools options are now renamed to SFSformat & PFSformat, and a new SFSCheck option have been added. PFSDoctor is now a new selectable item in the "Configure programs" window.
- The PrepCard option has been removed from Amiga911 Maker. This tool is only needed for setting up a PCMCIA SRAM card as RAM or storage device on a A1200 or A600, so it's usefulness is rather limited.
- Various bug fixes and enhancements.

MorphOS: Password manager PastePass 1.2
Stefan 'Kronos' Kleinheinrich's PastePass is a password manager for MorphOS with encrypted database which enters user name and password by pressing a special keyboard shortcut. A tool for encrypting the passwords is included as well.
Changes in version 1.2:
- load and save KeyPassX compatible XML files
- basic grouping of entries
- a default user can be selected
- spanish and french locales included

File manager: Directory Opus 5.91 for AmigaOS 3/4 and AROS
Since late 2012 the file manager Directory Opus 5 (formerly: "Magellan") became open source. After a year, a new update is available which fixes bugs.
With this release, the format of the configuration file has changed. Directory Opus 5.91 will load files of previous versions without any problems but when saving will convert them into a new format, which previous versions of the programm cannot read any longer.
- Increased embedded font filename sizes
- added/updated internal version checks of libs/modules to avoid crashes when users mix old and new setups
- removed the ~1MB upper limit for the stack of launched programs (Environment/Cli Launching/Stack)
- make default minimum stack size a bit bigger that 4000 everywhere (8192 for os3 , and 16384 for os4/mos/aros)
- some cosmetic everywhere (like about window now contain more info, updating dopus5.guide to the latest one, and co)
- more 64bit fixes: experimental dospatches (dopus/dospatch env) & some of modules works as expected.
- fixed 2 bugs in xadopus.module which left unnoticed: trash of memory when close lister with content, and wrong unpacking of directories with half-same names
- fixed most of cases when user want to use new version of dopus over old 5.82 to avoid crashes
- reworked LowMemory handler
- many OS3 only fixes (i.e, crash when OS3 environment palette window (configopus) closed, most of crashes because of mixing old and new componenets (like
crash if dopus5.library missing or outdated), etc). Also now ks3.0 is minimum, not ks3.1 as it was with 5.90.
- many OS4 only fixes(i.e, making dopus5 works with recent MUIs, fixing crash if "dopus/PatchWBInfo" environmental variable is set and the WBInfo patch is used,
filetype.module crash, join.module "split" progress window graph, more 64bit fixes, lister up-scrolling problem, etc)
- many AROS only fixes (i.e, disks can now be hidden (Environment/Desktop/HiddenDrives, saving the FTP options now works, fixig of lister's backgrounds,
fixing of deadlocks with AmiStart, drag mask for screens with high color depth, popup menu icon, etc)
- All the little tweaks and fixes all over the place, check the ChangeLog for more details
