Picasso96 sold to Individual Computers and Hyperion Entertainment (Update)
According to Alexander Kneer and Tobias Abt under the title link, they have decided "to sell the Picasso96 intellectual property to a joint ownership between Hyperion Computer Entertainment and Individual Computers GmbH (Jens Schönfeld)."
They also wrote: "Hyperion and Individual Computers have assured us that they will continue to support both the classic Amiga and next generation systems as well. They plan to integrate P96 into upcoming new OS releases."

In a statement on a1k.org (German, requires registration), Jens Schönfeld from Individual Computers explains that the Picasso96 distribution on Aminet will remain available and is still freely distributable. AROS: A week in AROS (from 27.03.2017)
Additional to his work on AROS, since September 2014 Krzysztof 'deadwood' Śmiechowicz summarizes the latest progresses and developments of the AROS-programmers for every week. A year later he also published monthly highlights until November 2016. On 2 April Krzysztof Śmiechowicz announced that he is going to take a break from AROS. The last entry of "A week in AROS" which he wrote was published on 3 April.
Now Oliver 'o1i' Brunner continues the summaries. We would take this opportunity to again report about the open source AmigaOS clone every week.
Week of March 27th:

AmiCast: Text interview with Norbert Kett
Issue eight of the English language podcast AmiCast had an interview with Norbert Kett, who is the author of AmigaCloudHandlers available for all Amiga systems for accessing DropBox and Google Drive. Currently he is working on an implemantation of OpenGL for the Vampire accelerator boards.

Anim player und converter: RNOAnim 1.0
RNOAnim "is a compact animation player that also has some conversion and editing functions." The program was written with Hollywood and has the following features:
- MUI-GUI (MUI Royale)
- Internal loaders: IFF, GIF, AVI (uncompressed/MJPEG)
- Included plugins: APNG, FLI/FLC, YAFA
- Can save (convert) to: GIF, APNG, and AVI (MJPEG)
- Can export frames to PNG images
- Animations can be resized freely by resizing the window
- Several options to alter the playback speed
- Animation frames can be added, inserted, or removed
- All changes (size, speed, frames) will be saved when saving a new animation
- Drag & drop loading
- Extensive ARexx support
- Keyboard and mouse controls

The MorphOS version also can be installed via Grunch. In this case the corresponding Ambient MIME types are automatically configured for the different formats.

WHDLoad: Version 18.3 and new installers until 08.04.2017
Using WHDLoad, you can install games, scene demos and intros from cracking groups to your harddisk that were only working from floppy disks previously.
Three days ago version 18.3 was released now supporting the Apollo core of the Vampire accelerator boards by recognizing them as 68040 processors. Additionally the following installers have been added until April 8th, 2017:

AROS: ZunePaint 0.10, ZuneView 0.37 and ZuneFIG 1.4r345
Yannick Erb has released AROS Updates of his ZuneTools ZunePaint and ZuneView as well as of the vector graphics program ZuneFIG.
Changes in ZunePaint:
- Do not show ILBM as a save option (it isn't working)
- Reworked interface to allow use of smaller resolution screen

Web-Browser: Release of IBrowse 2.5 might come closer
For more than ten years the website of the internet browser IBrowse as well as its programmer Oliver Roberts has been pointing out to a forthcoming version 2.5 of the programm, if any kind of problems or necessary updates were addressed. Many users gave up hope that IBrowse -which also cannot be purchased for almost ten years - that an update will be released.
Now the website of the browser has been updated: " As we move closer towards a new IBrowse release, we've updated the FAQ a little and uploaded an unedited history log of all the changes made since IBrowse 2.4 was released (these will both be updated at various times in the future as development continues)." A precise date of a forthcoming version 2.5 is not mentioned in the FAQ, but it is said that "various stumbling blocks have been removed".
Mainly IBrowse 2.5 will provide minor improvements and adaptions to current MUI versions. Additionally, AmiSSL 4 is supported. If the update will be available for free "has yet to be decided".

Hollywood: Several Plugin updates, 64-Bit support
Press release: Airsoft Softwair is proud to announce the immediate availability of many plugins for the x86_64 architecture. Since Hollywood 7.0: Eternity now has support for 64-bit CPUs the plugins also had to be updated for the new architecture.
