AmigaOS 4: "Heroes of Might and Magic 2"-Remake Free Heroes 2
Free Heroes is an open-source remake of the strategy game Heroes of Might and Magic (screenshots: 1, 2). The game files of the commercial original are required. If you want to have background music you should install the GravisUltraSound Soundfont.
Free Heroes 2 is still in early alpha status but is steadily developed further.

AROS: i.MX515-port intended
In future Genesi is going to use Freescale's ARM-compatible i.MX51-processor instead of the PowerPC. Therefore a corresponding developer program was started.
Under the title link Michal Schulz has suggested an AROS-port. Therfore now projects can also be sent which requires AROS.

Developer tools: vasm 1.3d, vlink 0.12a
Frank Wille has published updates of vlink as well as of vasm. vlink is portable linker which gets along with a wide range of binary formats. vasm is a portable assembler which supports different CPU-families (m68k, PPC, i386, 6502...). Both programs are part of the vbcc-distribution as well.

AmigaOS/MorphOS Games Award: Homeworld is game of the year 2008
Since 26th January users could vote which game was the best of the year 2008. The realtime strategical Homeworld is the winner. Jagged Alliance 2 and Command And Conquer: Red Alert were second and third. You can find the complete results under the title link.
